This is a great video, in my country, if you want to buy a set of fretboard radius gauges you have to buy them overseas, but this video provides an excellent solution

Thanks! I can adapt this technique to make a 9.5" under-string template for my P Bass to match the fingerboard radius to the bridge saddle adjusters.

Cheapo plastic chopping board type sheets ( red, green, blue etc ) 👍 Pin a string or strip of plastic at one end, attach modelling scalpel to other end at the radius you want and cut out as you sweep the radius.

Great video. I have a stack of empty plastic cd jewel cases finally found something useful instead of tossing them in the trash. Thanks. tip: Use any type of masking place it on the plastic or glass (if you're brave, Lmao ) Draw your radius gauge measurement then use a box cutter or pocket knife cut through the plastic or glass without splitting it or breaking.

Sorry for being dumb, but shouldn't all the lines tracked here the same radius, using the ruler pivoting on that point? Would someone please explain how to obtain different radius with this system? Thanks.

maybe i'm wrong, but it's not about the pivot point, it's about how much of the circle you can fit in the same space, if you draw idk 1" radius circle then cut it on the card, you'll pretty much be able to get the entire circle on the card, but if you draw the biggest you can make and put it in the same size card, you'll get only a fraction, and it will look like a slightly curved line. the Radius is the distance between the center of a circle to it's "limit"
