    True. But, he might also be an unscrupulous villain. He does seem to enjoy toying with his victims by just killing them whenever and leaving them scared and helpless. His laugh and insane mental tendencies proves this constantly. Initially, it seems like he wants to do a world of good by ridding the Earth of criminals, but at the end he was just a mass murdered which is where I agree.

    I have an idea for two anti-hero protagonists but I'm unsure what type they would be. I want them to have a very ruthless/brutal mentality towards the villains, like they would kill them mercilessly one by one as if they are hunting them down, but their motivation is ultimately for the safety and betterment of the weak. Would they be Unscrupulous heroes? even though I want the villains to be far worse, what would you say could be a good boundary for the anti-heroes? Great content btw!

    Peter Parker in his early run could possibly be a classical anti hero

  • @Guacko
    @Guacko Жыл бұрын

    The protagonist to my story-in-progress could be considered an anti-hero. He is defined by his willingness to take lives and his insane brutality. Under this guise is a good person who believes that by doing the right thing, you never really make a difference, and while he has no interest on making said difference for the first half of the story, a pivotal moment shifts his views and, while he has the same beliefs, he now puts them into action. He is known by the epithet of "King of The Devils" as his team is known as the devil squad and he commands it. As well as the fact that he breathes fire. I used his fire breathing ability to stress the similarities between himself and a demon.

    I understand what an anti-hero is, but watching videos like these that don't normally show any signs of a slice of life makes me wonder if I was wrong. 'cause there really isn't no "Hero" or "Villain" just nearly regular people with some fantasy and mystery elements. Heck, the closest thing to death, besides things like miscarriages or parents dying, is when my supposed Antihero lets his intrusive thoughts win and pushes a character off a cliff (it's more like a steep hill than a cliff). But in the end, he snaps out of it and saves him, so the character is just hospitalized. yeah I should've put more context, but I really want to see a video covering contemporary (if that's the name) anti-heroes more suited to a slice of life

    Hey monitor, I have a question that has been lingering in my mind for a while: Why is the first three chapters so hard to write?

  • @MonitorComics

    @MonitorComics

    Жыл бұрын

    That is because the Three Chapter rule adds a lot of pressure to writers. Many people only give a book, tv show, etc 3 episodes or chapters before they decide whether to continue or not. For that reason, there is a lot of pressure to make sure those 3 are good I have a video on the 3 chapter rule and how to structure your chapters to beat it. In short, your first chapter should be your longest and function sort of like a one-shot. Think back to Naruto's first chapter. It should set up the world and protagonist and give your reader a good glimpse into what your series will have. Chapter 2 should be shorter and start introducing more characters and establishing the overall plot of the story. Chapter 3 should be the inciting incident or the start of the first story arc. You usually want this chapter to have a cool climax or cliffhanger to encourage your reader to read more. Hopefully that helps!

    I mean if written correctly, it works. Think of Light Yagami from Death Note, I personally believe that he has one of the best writing in anti-heroic protagonist history. He has multiple girls falling in love with him, with this harem, Light uses the women as manipulated tools or decoys for his plan to defeat L and his successors.
