I tried that on one but the rest are regular because that is what the customer asked for. There are lots of off grid, no electricity people living in the woods around here, back to nature. Tiny houses all over the place.

Nice.. I have made a few of these nice.. couldn't sell commercially because possible liability of fire.. bottoms can get hot if too thin on bottom.. anyway.. nice candle stick holders. Merry Christmas!

I made the stem high and the cup deep so that the candle is safe. They sell metal ones at the hardware store in the same form. I assume safety worries always come back on the user and their mishandling of tools. Glass blowers make oil candles too. Never leave an open flame unattended, or fire a kiln for that matter. How many potters sit by there kiln all day or night, it does say never fire unattended in the instructions. Now they even have apps so you can be elsewhere while it is firing. Crazy insurance world we live in. I have been told my building is not insurable by the local agent, because it is on the water, they keep sending me annual bills for it and I pay them. I assume I get one claim and a big court fight. Electric lamp kits are another gray area. Who has liability there? I am not an electrician but an electrician showed me how to do it. The parts are all made in China now. If one electric socket wears out and causes a short, they are insulated with a thick piece of card, who is liable? Millions of those are sold annually. I guess the bottom line is make things as safe as you can and test them yourself. You must have caught me at a loose end, well it is Christmas day. Have a great holiday season.

Hi Vaughan, are you English? Your accent sounds partly English to me but I know Nova Scotia has some interesting accents. I'm English and I've just started learning pottery, I didnt expect to like it but ever since I tried using the wheel I've been fascinated and now want to try making lots of interesting things!
