Really fine craftsmanship and a great take on the water-etching technique. ALL natural and no shellac or glue! What a great idea. I really enjoy your posts.

So pretty!! Do you typically glaze the whole piece after this? Keep the leaves bare? I would love to see a picture of the final product!!

Thanks very much! The method is really cool and the video is beautifully created. I would love to see a photo of the finished piece! One question- what sort of fabric did you use on the outside of the vase that you used as a form?

Hi. I’m not clear on how you achieved the final result. Did you just keep wiping away the clay around the leaves? And it is crazy that this video came up in my feed because I while I was out today, I saw some beautiful ginkgo trees and their fallen leaves. I would have collected some but I was with my husband. He would not have endulged me in my endeavor. 😅

I wonder how this technique using water didn’t weaken the bowl structure.

I agree, more video on etching away was needed. I believe from past experience that it's difficult to get the raised edges to be perpendicular to the bowl, so this would have been very useful to see. Still, it's a very nice bowl!
