Perhaps you forgot to set the players position locked on the y axis. Locking movement on an axis will prevent an object from moving in a direction you don't want it to. In the case of a top down view platformer game, we want movement on the x axis (for left/right movement) and the z axis (for jumping). We do not want the player to be able to move towards or away from the camera, or else it would fall off the level (I assume that is what your comment is referring to). Therefore we must lock the y axis of the player movement. Look closely at the video; on the set locked block, the position input has [1, 0, 1]. This translates to [allowed x movement, denied y movement, allowed z movement]. This is exactly what we need to solve our problem. Also, the rotation is locked on all axis as an input [0, 0, 0] so the player does not rotate at the edge of a cliff. Sorry for the rant, hope this helps! - an experienced fancade coder
