Hi Bryce, how much do you charge to customize the theme ?
when it comes to hosting do you use your own physical servers or do you just pay another company?
Thanks for the information. This is exactly what i wanted to know❤
How you explained all of this is legendary. For a moment I was thinking, I don't need to do this as I make this per day, but was sold when you spoke about making money when you don't have to work! You've gained a new subscriber!
are you building themes from scratch ACF or you're just customizing it using CSS/HTML? How do you find clients?
Hello, I'd like to know if you are marketing your services to small businesses, do you by any chance let them know your services can be considered a tax write off? I know it doesn't count for all businesses but I do know some small businesses/newer LLC's can put on their taxes that they paid for your services to help build their business.
if you build 3-4 websites first you pay monthly or yearly just to keep those little practice sites up?
Hi Bryce, do they bring their own information before you build them the website
do you offer website maintenance? Updating pages, plugins. If so do you charge monthly or per task?
9 hours of sleep sounds like me......IM CHECKING YOU OUT NOW. INTERESTED. NEW TO WORDPRESS.
Hi where did you learn to make websites? what resources did you use ( school, training) etc?
If you use themeforest theme and modify it to the client, how much to charge the client this way?
Very good my friend. I was thinking about this type of business. You explained it very well. Thank you so much
When you say your clients pay you for hosting (passive income) does that mean if that want something tweaked you have to do it for them?
Can i do this work from mobile
I love this video and how you explained everything, thank you and God bless you
hey Bryce does like fiver or Upwork work to
Very insightful. Thank you!!
Where do you find the templates?
Respect, thanks for the video. Is there any management involved? If $10-15 monthly passive income per customer is the average ($900/month / 70 clients), is it really worth it? I guess passive income is passive income, but it seems like there's better ways to spend your time. How do you handle updates and issues down the road when they arise, this is billed hourly?
Some great advice here, but is it really possible to make good money on hosting? I've been doing this a while and for me hosting can be a lot of effort with little reward. So, I'm just curious to know your take on it.
How do you handle access to websites? For instance, I built my own site but I’m the nay that make changes to it. So if I’m building for a client now do I turn the access over to them? Or what if they want me to Anita in the site but they still have access to site to make additions, wording, photos, videos, etc.

Factor the price into what you charge
Great content. How do you handle SEO questions? Do you incorporate any on the sites you build? I know SEO is its own separate beast but from my experience people believe that by just building a site automatically their site will show up on Google when looking up their location, trade or industry on search engines. I’m a newbie on SEO so I’m just looking at getting them started with a site but not be attached doing their SEO. Thanks in advance

I think the biggest thing is education -- I tell clients that I do BASIC (very basic) SEO, but that's about it. Like you mentioned, people think that SEO is just something that can be done once, and then they'll magically show up on the front page of Google. Not the case. It's an on-going, continual process. I don't include any SEO services when I build a site, because it just isn't worth my time. Instead, I tell them they can hire someone else to refine the site once I've completed it.

Hey Bryce, thanks for the video, I found it super useful for my own gig I’m doing, you’ve also encouraged me to start offering hosting solutions. I’m relatively new to the game, worked with 2 clients now and I have a question to do with workflow....you say it takes you 8-10hrs to build most sites. I’m wondering how you do that as I have a lot of difficulty handling the “back and forth” with the client. When it comes to copywriting, do you make them write their own text? Even sometimes the simplest instruction in terms of what to write, a client doesn’t always listen, and doesn’t think at all about how it will look on the page. If they choose a theme, say it’s image heavy but the client doesn’t have many images or any good quality for their business, yeah I can pick a few and use but it’s all the back and forth of customising to their liking. Like how do you go through the process of fonts, colours etc. I tend to pick/stick to the theme and what I’m thinking they’re after but the client seems to always change their mind or want this bit of text editing or I have no copy for their about and give them direction to write and it’s just this whole process that takes the time, not the actually build of the site itself. Would be amazing if you could make a video explaining how you work through that? I’m considering even maybe making basic worksheets where they have to write copy for an about or etc but doesn’t always apply to all types of sites. Anyway, thanks for all the content your channel has really helped me! Appreciate it! ☺️

Hello, do you teach how to run this type of building wordpress website in your web hosting course?
@BryceMatheson
3 жыл бұрын
Yes
Great video :)
So I'm a web designer myself, but I typically build much bigger, more expensive websites than you do. Lots of courses and membership sites and more complicated shops. I previously did the ThemeForest thing, but I found that in my experience most ThemeForest themes were buggy, difficult to work with, and a lot of them would screw up when you updated WordPress. Like some of these themes have the most convoluted admin areas that are so hard to figure out and I'd spend 2 hours trying to figure out how to change a button when if I built the site myself it would take 30 seconds. So I was wondering what do you do when you run into situations like this where a TF theme is buggy or doesn't do what you wanted to do or the client asked for something that the theme is not able to do without hours of redevelopment work. Do you tell the client they have to choose a new theme or do you spend the extra time trying to figure out how to work with a theme that's messed up? Or do you have a list of theme companies you buy from/requirements for the themes you'll work with (for example, will you only work with themes that use Elementor or something like that)? Thanks!
@BryceMatheson
4 жыл бұрын
Shannon, you mention some crucial points. I think that's typically why I stick with smaller clients, that don't need a lot of whiz-bang bells and whistles. Just typical, average, everyday clients. I'm also fairly selective with my clients as well, and don't take on clients that are going to be difficult to work with or need a super in-depth site. Again, like I mention in the video, I'm more interested in the passive income side of things, than I am the actual site build. Personally, I'm with you -- I'm not a big fan of TF and the themes that are trying to be everything for everyone. I makes them bloated, complicated, and slow. I'm a big fan of just straight HTML/CSS to be honest.

How do you charge your clients the monthly sub for hosting their website on your server? Do they just Venmo you once a month?

PayPal recurring subscription.
I've been getting more and more interested in creating passive income. How long would you estimate it might take someone who is pretty darn tech illiterate (I exploited a loophole in high school and never took a single computer class) to get to the point that they could build a decent website and actually charge for it? Are we talking weeks, months, years?
@BryceMatheson
3 жыл бұрын
To build one single website? Easy. If you’re that tech savvy, I bet you could have a website done in 10 hours worth of work. And then sell a hosting package with it. That way you get the income from the initial build, and then the residual passive income to follow.
Hi Bryce, I’m actually a developer, I’ve always been against Wordpress, just saw it as cheating, but watching your video kinda making me think why not, I was working for a website design company so never dealt with the costs and financial side of it, I’ve started my own large format printing business but still build my own websites mainly for fun tbh, but would maybe do Wordpress for another income alongside my main game… I’ve not much experience dealing with clients I was only passed details of edits and ideas, but it puts me off as some clients I’m can be really hard to please, and constantly changing their minds, how do you deal with that? Also do you take a deposit from them before you start, if so how much? Cheers Bryce

Are you filling in the actual content for the wordpress websites as well? Like putting in the actual text and things for each page, or you're just building the infrastructure and letting the client fill in the information? I have like zero experience with building websites. Also, do you think charging 800 dollars for my first client after i've built a few websites for free is a good starting point? Or is 800 dollars something I should work my way up to? This sounds like an amazing side hustle.

Nice video, thanks! I struggle to see how a half decent website can be made regularly in 8 to 10 hours though. Just from experience there would be revisions needed by the customer, emails back and forth getting down to what they really want on their website. Trying out different images, chasing the customer up for images or copy that they haven’t supplied, or simply there is something you’ve done that they don’t like, and they want changed. Does this sound common, or is it just me? Thanks!

Whenever you pay for a theme, you get support from the developer. So if you have any issues, you can reach out to them and they can help you out pretty easily. You really want to make sure you know what you're doing beforehand.
