How to Maintain Consciousness and Stay Centered |Michael Singer |Alpha Waves Music

The core of your spiritual path is maintaining consciousness and staying centered, and all practices are just meant to learn how to do this.
The purpose of life is defined as remaining centered, clear, calm, and filled with spirit and awareness while interacting with all events. The work required to achieve this involves prolonging the periods of time before getting sucked in and shortening the period of time until coming back out. The focus is on welcoming circumstances and remaining calm, centered, and conscious every minute of every day.
All events in life are temporary and meaningless, you should not trade spiritual consciousness for the object of consciousness. Let go of what's binding yourself, and this is the most important aspect of spiritual practice. Meditation, mantra, yoga, and spiritual company are all helpful, but they are not ends in themselves. The end goal is the commitment to maintaining consciousness, and all practices are just meant to that end.

Dr. Jeffrey Thompson is an expert in using rhythmic pulses of sound to guide the listener's brainwave activity, a technique known as brainwave entrainment audio. His audio tracks can induce relaxed, focused, and meditative states.
Brainwave entrainment works by exposing the brain to external rhythms at a target frequency, causing brainwaves to synchronize with that frequency. This allows you to activate mental states linked to specific brainwave patterns. For example, alpha waves, which have frequencies around 8-12 Hz, are linked to relaxed but wakeful states, while theta waves are linked to meditation and beta waves to focus.
For over 40 years, Dr. Thompson has pioneered brainwave audio using ambient music and nature sounds with embedded brainwave frequencies. His tracks provide an easy way to explore different states of consciousness and optimize your mind-body experience.

I lost my center in my early 20s, after starting to awaken at 16. I got tangled up with heroin, totally lost my footing for about 20 years, then 8 more with alcohol after quitting heroin. When I finally came to, after my first psychedelic experience in nearly 30 years, it was like a very rapid rewind and everything was so clear again. Actually, more clear than it ever had been. I began to let go of all of my addictions(alcohol, weed, nicotine, video games, porn, eating for pleasure...), and face and accept what had sent me reeling all those years ago, and then to realize that that time that felt as if it was wasted, was SUCH an important part of the journey. Life is crazy and beautiful, even when it seems like it is crazy and ugly.

I think the key is to balance between what is in our control and what is not. Most of our so called problems are out of control and it is here that we need to let go of changing people and situations and let go of our emotions. I also think that taking small steps to do what we can to get ourselves from uncomfortable situations is a form of self love and liberation, and these are all components of spirituality.

Life is Divine and we are all her Divine children. What is meaningless is the mind that we are trying to connect with for answers about our divinity. Life is a Loving Spirit that dwells inside and outside of us. Connecting with our inner Spirit is the way and the truth to find the answers that we are seeking.

If "life is meaningless" and one should only focus on spiritual consciousness, why are we here? Our souls came to Earth for a reason. They knew that we would temporarily lose sight of the spirit world/greater reality. If life were meaningless with no purpose, then we wouldn't have chosen to be here. Yes, all events are temporary, but they do have meaning because they all add up to the bigger picture, the grand story of us re-discovering who we are, how to help humanity and how to learn.

I believe that life has little meaning. The reason we came into this world is to give meaning to this otherwise meaningless life to our liking. This is a process, not the result of a hard search. Experience is meaning.

I think, first and foremost, to abandon this "have to do" idea. Nothing has to be done. Staying conscious is also not something you have to do, don't force yourself to maintain, but let running thoughts come and go naturally. It's as if you're a station, watching your thoughts come in and out like different buses, and your will doesn't influence them, nor are you swayed by their arrival and departure. Don't fight them. Or maybe you're the beach, and your thoughts are like the ebb and flow of the sea, coming and going, but the beach is always there. Don't fight, let them come and go freely.

These are exceptional productions of Singer’s words and I appreciate your effort to put them out into the world. As I watch, however, I find my monkey mind attaches to the words because they are front and center. Yes, this is a part of Singer’s point about letting go-but they aren’t needed.
