How to maintain and products used in our Red Centre Caravan Dometic Toilet Cassette.
The products I use are designed specifically for use in a caravan toilet. Hash chemicals are not recommended as they can have a detrimental effect on the plastic parts of the toilet and the rubber seals.
The Walex satchels come in different scents and are very easy to use, normally one satchel is enough for a 16 litre container but I use two as it provides a stronger scent.
I have tried reducing the 2 litres of water (the recommended amount) when setting up the toilet with the satchels but it doesn’t work must use the recommended 2 litres of water.
The Thetford duo tank cleaner dose for a 16 litre cassette is 200mils. I tip in the product then fill the cassette up to the top with water and leave overnight then empty out. You can also use this product in your grey water tank, mixing it with water leaving it in there while driving around then emptying it out.
The Aqua Rinse Spray is a Thetford product that can be used instead of flushing with water. It can also be used before using the toilet as it leaves a residue on the bowl surface which helps the flushing process.

Thanks Sep. Once again you show us how and then we can do it too. The silicone paste is a good idea. I have silicone grease in the shed which I assume is basically the same stuff.
