Nicely done 👍👍👍 yes the 1 ton trucks had hydro boost but they are very sought after by the Cummins swap guys ( ask me how I know ... because I build one lol ). Good video keep it up 👍👍👍

I love watching your LS swaps. I bought a 1980 K-30 5.7/Th400 Custom Deluxe dually ex- fire/rescue truck a few weeks ago. 35,000 original miles, a farmer friend has owned it for about 10 years and has put the majority of the miles on it using it around the farm. They had a issue with it last spring , thought it had jumped time and decided to sell it. I’ve investigated it and found it has dropped the #6 exhaust valve. Not sure what else is broken. You have inspired me to do a 6.0 LS swap on it. I’m going to start collecting parts. Thanks for your informative videos and keep them coming

Glad to see you back making videos! I just finished my first one and it came out great! I did it a lot like your how to do a ls swap in a weekend video but I did add in the 4l60e trans as well. You were the best source of confidence for me to do my swap! Sure it took two months lol, not 2 days but wow what a difference it is having the ls over my 350. This thing rips now lol and its bone stock. Thanks for the videos, they really help!

@@justinpearson2768 I took the motor and trans from an 02 Silverado. So its a lm7 but everyone refers to it as an ls. I went to the junkyard and the guy had the 02 truck as his yard truck. So I knew it was a good runner. He let me take the whole thing home and take anything I wanted off it for my build. 700 bucks is what I paid him total. I did the swap to an '85 chevy truck (c10) Other costs was the new gas tank and braided steel gas lines with AN fittings and fuel pump. Add in cheap motor mounts and a cheap trans mount as well. The 5.3/4l60e ends up being the same length overall as my 350/350 so I was able to use my original driveshaft and even the shifter linkage lined up so nothing needed there. I installed shorty headers too with new pipes and mufflers too. I used the 02 stock engine side fusebox and air cleaner and more. This was a drive by wire setup so I used a modified gas pedal and the tac box for that. Pedal was free, I modified the one from the 02 truck to work in mine. So, overall, not a ton of money like some folks on these swaps. Oh, I learned a few programs like pcmhammer and tunerpro and took vats off the pcm, and made other mods to the computer to suit my needs. Stuff like shift points and more, all free. So to answer your question, I'd guess 2k all in for the swap. I still have the truck now and it runs amazing.

Love it, exactly what I wanna build for a hauler. Maybe do a small turbo kit just to bump the power up a bit.

I've recently acquired an f350 in need of an engine. Similar setup, 4 door and dually. How was this as far as power? I just don't want an underpowered truck. Did the weight of the truck hurt it much?

Not necessarily, 6.0 just as much torque and power than stock big blocks with benefit of increased mpg and efficiency, a lot of people will see more value there but to each their own, just enjoy these vehicles while we have them and do what you have to to do so
