How To Lower A Motorcycle | Part 1 Installing Lowering Links | How To #2
Here’s a how to on installing lowering links on your motorcycle. This will go for most sport bikes, here particularly is an 09’ ZX6R. The whole process takes very minimal effort, and will allow your bike to sit lower.
This was supposed to be posted a couple days ago and just forgot to hit “public”. Thanks!

Thanks for the Video! I’m 5’5 and most bikes sit too high for me to be comfortable so this Tutorial was EXACTLY what I needed to see, now I know what needs to be done !! 💪🏽👊🏽
"It's only 1 bolt" proceeds to take the whole bike apart
Such a good video. Straight to the point, and with simple explanations!
Thank you for this. Just lowered my 2013 Zx6r following your video.
Great video, much better than most pertaining to lowering.
Thank you. I was looking at a zx6r, but have to tip toe. So I won't be worried now. Awesome video!
Very well done, actually one best I've see. Keep it up you are very good
good video man. wish other people made things so simple and clear
Very helpful especially cause we are the same height and just makes me feel more comfortable when I can flat foot a bike
Nice work! I’m going to lower my ZX6R, your video is the first one I see and I’m going to used it. Thank you and ride safety!

wish I watched this before spending 180 dollars on a lowering kit XD I Am a new biker and 4'10 and can barely touch the ground on a ninja 300. they also didn't tell me I would need a new kickstand so now I need to look that up as well

i believe the front is not adjustable

@@yeet286Should be able to loosen the clamps and slide the shocks up. Not a great idea, since it'll change the steering geometry
Nice vidéo man
Good vid thanks man
Straight to the point and easy thank you for the video Do you have a video on lowering the front
Easy to follow deserves a subscribe
So you have increased the rake - how did you find the handling? I am going the opposite way +25mm of head angle to have more feel from the front and steer quicker
I’m 5’1, i definitely needed this vid for when i get my bike! 😂🙏

PRECIOSO VIDEO !!!
great job
Hell yeah man.
@Dylan Spencer Did you for sure get the lowering links from Brock's? The only ones I can find like yours are made by PSR and they're $65.00. Thanks for the video.
Helpful video
How far did u go on the front suspension aftr lowering your rear by 2inches?thanks
Already knew what to do, came to see other methods, definitely going to use the ladder lol thats genius
love the 1000 buck 2by 4 comment thanks for the vid looking to get 600 gsxr in couple days and was curious about lowering just kills me to see folks running with open header just sounds horrible and the cheaper links some are made from cheaper metal and china metal is very bad for cracking
What lowering link would you recommend for a 5th gen ZX10R?
Can you tell me where you got your adjustable kick stand?? What website cause I can't find anything online ATM for my 2011 zx6r
We lowered a zx9R. A couple weeks ago. Just fine lowered way easier. Just bought a new one. Tried to lower it and one side lowered way more than the other. Do you know how to raise back up that one side by chance
Wow man, nice video...it seems easy to do. I have a 2003 GSXR-750 so do you think it's pretty much the same process?
Awesome video! Very well done, but do you like the handling of your zx6r lowered? I like the looks when its lowered but Im scared to do it. I wanted to lower my brand new 2023 Zx6r, but my local bike shop said it was not a good idea because it will absolutely throw off the handling (unless I was planning on only doing lean angle equivalent to a moped, then it would be ok). The bike shop said that lowering a sport bike would basically turn it into a cruiser, but Im curious what you think about it your lowered zx6r? Great job on the video and I do like the look of the bike when its lower (but I do care a lil more about how the bike handles than looks). Thanks for posting....

Hey, perfect instruction. I have 1998 Suzuki Bandit 1200s and I only see one link at left side. I do not see any link at right side. Am I blind? It has to be pair, right?
I found both. I checked bolts : 17mm at the top and 14mm at the bottom. Question is if the holes on the link will work with this bike? I am asking because the description says this link won't fit to my 1998 Suzuki Bandit 1200s. I could not find any links that says fit to 1998. I will appreciate your comment on this.
Do you lower the front by the same amount as the back? Meaning 2 inch drop in the back, do you drop the front 2 inches?
You ever end up doing the front end?
@Jenuin

Smart question. You are suppose to do things evenly to help maintain suspension reaction being as close to stock as possible.
Recommendations for the lowering links for a 2003 R6?
Do you mind telling us where you get the kit? Link please
Best one
Where did you get your parts from ? And how did you lower the front forks ?
I had the links installed but my bike suspension feels softer. I already moved the suspension to Lowest and highest setting and still feels a bit lose. I'm worried when I carry someone erj me it will scrape the back tire. I dropped my ninja 400 2 inches.
Does the rear have to be on a stand or can the tire be on the ground ?
Good stuff!

Getting ready to do exactly same thing please send information as to where you bought the part's
do you lose performance, when lowering the height ? , I am 5'2" & love to ride the R1but it's to heavy , , it would be nice if yamaha add reverse mode to easily reverse bike out of driveway when facing home , anyways good videos
What about the oil change? How did you go about it moving forward?
Thumbs up!
You video very good, can you show how to lowest the front too?
Will that hold? The spaces between the holes are too thin.
What brand are the lowering links and can you put a link where you purchased them from
Your tutorial video is the best on youtube, i hope you will get more subscribers because your videos are worth gold.
I wonder how long those will last with how thin the material is between each hole.
It’s good video👌🏾👌🏾 can I do it for mt7??
No chain adjustments after lowering?
is there a video to put back to oem from being stretched with extention
Ayeee I like the shirt go chiefs!!!
how high was you seat height before the links?
If I lower the back 2 inches do I drop the front 2 inches as well
What about lowering the forks, did you do that?
Did you ever do a part 2 for the front?
@jordyqshorts2025

Prolly not😂
Does lowering your bike affect the way it handles, drastically? Or do people just assume it does without actually having ridden one before? I mean, I'm sure it affects the bike's characteristic.... but people make it seem like it will mess up the handling of the bike.
Do you have a video on how to lower the front end
Nice video! Just don't spray WD40 anywhere near your chain, as it is a degreaser and if it gets on your chain, may cause early chain failure. NEVER spray WD40 directly on your chain.
So do I need to order two sets? Like for a total of 4? I’m confused
Thanks for the very good how to video! Do you have to lower the front if you lower the rear an inch so my wife can flat foot it?
@Rey_M
2 жыл бұрын
Yes you do. He was supposed to post part 2. Lowering the front
Will this work the same for my H2
Did you do anything to the front?
Did you do a video on the front??
How tall do you have to be(in cm) to flat foot a r1?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Is it mandatory to lower the front once you lowered the back?
@WhyDidYTstartThisHandleShit
2 жыл бұрын
absolutely necessary. find some way to attach a torpedo level to the bike and check how it sits before you lower it. then check again after the work is done to make sure its sitting the same. ride height/steering geometry is important, fuck it up at your own risk. it can be an inch closer to the ground but as long as the angles of everything are the same, hard to go wrong =D
So does what a particular link says recommend for a specific bike, does that really matter if the length is same?
Hi, Thank you for making this video can you send me the link I’d like to buy the same for my bike I have a 2003 FZ1 Yamaha. Thanks
Did you had to lower the front?
