Rogers is just so full of shit, and he still talks as though he's such a great person even if he faked his records because "it was to have fun and bring people together!" well thats not true exactly. If you actually watch all of omni gamers 5.57 dragster attempt: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gpx40JSrf8XKpaQ.html at around 23:28 he talks about his reasons for doing all this and very clearly says hes doing it as part of research for a book. However that doesn't mean his point is any less valid. I think this is where Todd got this idea from though, because omni was fairly low-key about it in the forums.

As interesting as it would be, I doubt Twin Galaxies had any deeper corruption or motivation here other than reluctance to let go of one of their biggest assets. Any company would have tried to cover this up because it's a blow to their brand.

TG have been irrelevant since the late 90s. They are from a time where proof standards were so low that known people could just claim records and were believed. This also happened in communities that had nothing to do with TG or the arcade scene. In the current age of no vid no did it would be impossible to get fake records just based on reputation. TG is just a relic of the past at this point.

The way how he talks (writes), that's not how a videogamer writes or express himself: "Over what? a high score on a videogame?" I mean, that's the reason most people play: to have fun furst of all but also to discover more, to achieve a higher score, to be better at a game, etc. That only solidifies the thought that he was never in for the games but for the fake recognition of fake scores. He wanted to be remembered as he claim himself to be the "king of videogames" but it flipped over and now he is one of the worst in history and he managed to get a title but a different tittle from what he expected for the rest of his life and beyond. Now he will be remember forever as a the "Fraud of videogames"

It would be good to expose the bad behavior at Twin Galaxies. It worries me that they (and not anyone else) are used by other sources for their credibility. Speedrun or speeddemosarchive should be consulted just as well. (incidentally, both those sites are much easier to use and actually load)

mullet_muffins Cheating is, just part of these types of things. A lot of it is legitimate, but a good bit is probably cheating also. It's unfortunate, but some people will go through great lengths to be number one by any means necessary. Even if that means cheating.

Twin Galaxies is a quintessential example of the Old Boys' Club. Gaming communities aren't isolated in individual arcades anymore like they were in the 80s, the internet and livestreaming has made TG obsolete. We don't need them anymore. Burn the entire thing down, Apollo.

I cant help but feel like twin galaxies knew about the cheating back in the 80's. And that a lot of people with the resources to cheat were just going ahead and doing it. Because why does Todd Rodgers have any credibility, why is twin galaxies constantly letting suspect scores of games onto their once respected leaderboards and literally revoking scores of non galaxy members on the drop of a hat with NO real proof that any foul play happened. I feel like twin galaxies higher ups were cheaters and pressured there non cheatings associates(refs and investigators) to let their own scores slide and push the outside competition into the dirt.

Honestly he'd probably draw over it in sharpie saying "fastest time in dragster" and when it's raining the sharpie comes off and he just argues like "oh well someone must've written over what it said while i wasn't looking" and procede to pretend to try and scrub off the actual words

Guiness doesn't keep records of game high scores.

Its not enough, keep digging. Pull it all together. It'll easily be one of, not just yours, but overall best videos documenting everything that took place over this matter. Speaking on behalf of your viewers, I think it's fair to say we would be willing to wait a while even if it took a month or two to compile one mega documentary of "the greatest lie in video games ever". It would be awesome tho.

Continue. I've never cared about this topic since I came across your channel and no other channels covering this topic interest me.

I say we should explore this rabbit hole. Or at least poke our head in for a peak, lol. But to be on topic about Todd, good riddance. We don't need any more cheaters in speedrunning, that behavior ruins the whole activity for me, as a watcher/follower

Apollo your Channel is really good, I mean you are doing a great job bring informacional, curiosity and revealing this kind of things about cheating, frauds, and corruption of speedrun sites and communities. I would never know this things if hadnt you. Please show how far is it going. A hug from Brasil.

I definitely think you should keep looking into TG, but as you expand you should do it with some sensitivity. TG in general has terrible standards, but be careful not to assume everyone posting or even working there does. Like, don't let Todd Rogers bias your assessment of anyone else in TG.

Yeah, I agree questionable stuff should be investigated but an effort should definitely be made to avoid the kind of mob-mentality witch hunt that can develop from this sort of thing.

This is what happened on Atariage when his Barnstorming record was challenged. First, he was all, "you guys will never be as good as me. LOL!". However, when they showed it was completely impossible, it was all, "my Barnstorming cart was different" and "lightning hit my Atari", and "you're all haters!" Todd's M.O.

BM's Pac-Man score has questions associated with it too. It was done in a public place, but the only witnesses seem to be his buddies. There are questions about if he finished the game in time required by the rules.

The saddest thing about this, is that if only he had come clean, this wouldn't have been half as bad. This whole controversy would have died just as quickly as it started. He would have admitted it, apologized, people would have moved on. This got as bad as it did, because *Fraud Rogers* just refuses to admit what he has done, despite overwhelming evidence. This not only enraged a lot of people, it also inspired many to bring him down once and for all.

Go into the rabbit hole and expose the corruption please. We as a community should NOT ALLOW CHEATERS AND FRAUD!!! Make the video please
