I have to say, it's the first time I see horizontal lines making a person thinner than vertical lines on a piece! Really well played!

I think it works because the cardi has strong black _vertical_lines, too (the button field). Without that, it probably wouldn't do the trick. At least, not so well.

Wow, it really did make a difference! Your mum is so sweet and generous to do this, she is a very elegant dresser and has a beautiful smile.

This! I noticed she uses the same key garments in different videos - and I absolutely love that! It shows how a single piece can be extremely versatile. It's not about the "Go, go, go, shop!", it's about little key changes here and there.

I like the short striped jacket she put on her mom in lieu of the large striped shirt. (I now would not see any occasion for that shirt at all. Ever. Do you all agree?) It seems that clothing makers could stop making clothes for plus-sizes that make things WORSE. The young lady in this video is a blessing for doing this. Her mom is charming!

I learned more in 4 1/2 minutes than in years! Your mom is a great sport, built like me, and clearly shows the difference those few changes make! Using almost the same clothing REALLY helps make the point! Oh, and my daughter and I are that close, too!

Wow ! Iam impressed I have always worn shirts out thinking it made me look taller and slimmer being mature and having a thicker middle like your Mom I can now see how wrong I have been. Your Mom looks beautiful thank you for showing my big midtake.

I didn't feel a need for words or captions at all. The expressions and movements you showed were all that was needed to get the point across? I was so impressed with the changes you made to your mothers wardrobe choices. Small improvements but big impact! She not only looked slimmer, but younger too! Great job! Love, love! Please do another with trousers. I usually keep the principle of visually dividing myself into thirds horizontally and vertically in mind, but this vid with real clothes helped a lot.

Great work in that video, but I agree about the jackets. I think a light weight vest might sometimes do the trick.

Love love this. We all have shapes. I am short waisted so I have to stop the crop pant!!! Long tall pants shirts that hit at the hip great. Not ignoring the older crowd is precious and respectful.

Very VERY Helpful!!! Merci! This gives me something practical because my body is not what it used to be--and I have great difficulty losing weight at 51. So Seeing your video I have a better understanding. Fitting for a large bust is a challenge. 😕 I don't even know how to shop!

I think you should consider having voice-overs or even talk throughs, or if you are not comfortable with speaking, you should definitely try putting some text in your videos so we could understand your tips even better, but still, good work! A new subbie here. 💖

It's an incredibly nice break from other videos where there is so much yammering and wordiness that all you are thinking is GET TO THE POINT and end up switching over. Besides, chickie here has a beautiful accent that's easy to understand.

I found your video quite by accident, and I am so very glad I did!! When I was younger, I was very slim and of course, it’s so easy to find clothes when you are a size 2. But, due to my meds and a few other factors, I don’t have that easy to dress body anymore and I absolutely HATE shopping because I just don’t know how to make clothes fit and look cute/not frumpy. Oh my gosh. Your mother is so beautiful. You look so much like your mom. You could be sisters. Well, now you know what you're going to look like in another 20 or 25 years or so ha ha. This was really a good video. It's so funny - I knew exactly what you were going to do with your mom's outfit to make her look thinner before you even did it. Those are some really tried and true methods for looking thinner. I really love this video but what I'd really like to see even more is how to look heavier -- because I know there are a lot of girls and women that are thin and no matter how much they eat they can't gain weight - and I'm one of them. And dressing is a problem for them too! It would be really interesting to do a video on how to look heavier and in my case I need it in my upper body - because I have really narrow shoulders and torso/ upper body. Like so many women, when I gain weight it goes to my butt, hips and thighs....never to my shoulders, bust and torso. Anyway, thanks for the great vids and I hope you'll consider a similar vid -- but for for the skinny girls to look bigger....xox, SS

I love this! I hope you will shoot a Part 2! Some suggestions: Yes, there should voice over tips, about how/why you raised the hemline on a skirt, or if you're pegging it at the bottom, and why that works, etc. It would be very helpful! My other suggestion would be to do a before/after with all the exact same pieces in both outfits (i.e., don't swap out the toppers), to demonstrate how minor alterations can change the fit of a dress or outfit that you already have, and make it more flattering, without having to purchase additional pieces, or get too fussy with layers.
