I think just the black top with a delicate necklace or maybe a single pendant or a strand of pearls would have looked much more simple and elegant. A well draped simple scarf will also be an excellent accessory and class up your outfit. The grey fake fur however truly does not do you any favours and cheapens your. This is honest constructive criticism. The other points were very good

I agree so much when it comes to simple nails! Nails with simple yet sophisticated polish can really make you look classy.

These.are some amazing tips. I have 3 daughters, upon each of their graduations I gifted them a set of cultured pearl earrings, necklace, braclet, and ring With a card that said... "When in doubt...put on a dark solids., throw on those perfect shades and these perfect accessories. You can't go wrong when styling like Audrey Hepburn".

I think prints can be elegant if done correctly, of course

the faux fur collar doesn't help... it looks like one of those bath robes... also, a fresher eye make-up would look more expensive... just an opinion.

Great tips! But the fur and scarf you are wearing makes you look very cheap. You have a lovely accent and very well poised. Throw this outfit away.

I went to boarding school and we had etiquette and makeup classes, I'd say its better to have a small wardrobe of high-quality clothes and accessories than a large wardrobe with cheap clothes. Even if you don't think so, real silk vs imitation really looks and feels different. Same with pearls, real vs fake pearls look so different, the shine is not the same. If you have to stay in a budget you can get some things from thrifting/second-hand shops. They'll be cheaper but you can find some great quality things. And its better to get an unbranded watch than a MK watch, I've never seen MK look classy, let alone expensive.

When I was 12 it was common for young girls to take modeling classes; not to model, but to learn proper etiquette, how to walk, carry yourself, etc. It has stayed with me.

Angie, you have so many good ideas! Loved all of these tips. I do have to say however, the fur isn't working. It doesn't look expensive. Rather, combined with the scarf looks like you are trying too hard. This look was very distracting.

The last trip is very useful and very important , LOOK GOOD FOR YOURSELF AND ALWAYS . DO NOT NOT PUT UP A SHOW FOR A FEW HOURS TO SHOW SOMEONE . PRACTICE THESE THINGS ALWYAS AND YOU WILL EVENTUALLY BECOME THAT PERSON .

I really liked this video. I think some people misunderstand what you were trying to say but I definitely get it. Especially the last part! When you talked about living the way you wanted to live and caring about even what you wore to bed. It's not about being materialistic or faking anything.. it is about caring about who you are and how you live your life and doing it in a way in which you are meeting your own standards. It is easy to fake it out there in the world but if you treat yourself well even when it's just you and its just for yourself, that's when you know you are caring about yourself and it does give you confidence because you feel like you are being your best self.

Despite all those hateful comments, I understand where you are coming from. You look like someone nice to have as a friend. Thanks for sharing these tips. I basically know all of them, but somehow have forgotten how to apply in real life :)

I liked the video and it all rings true however that “scarf” looks hideous and please please please always groom your eyebrows!!! Her eyebrows are awful and her make up is hideous with the black eyeliner drooping down her eyes to the patchy bronzer and greasy skin. I guess her grandmother skipped that chapter! It’s pretty hard to say something negative in a nice way ...I tried. She reminds me of rasa (spelling) from “S of sunset” on bravo! Please just get a make over 🤦🏻‍♀️

I could see some people scoffing at the last point but I fully believe its true! I agree with some of your tips and disagree with others, expensive doesn't necessarily mean chic or elegant, you could wear a 10 000 $ dress and still look tacky , wear a dress from Primark and look super chic . i agree with paying attention to details and wear clothes that fits , nudes and basics are great but a bit of color can also elevate the look. A nice small watch is alot more elegant and feminine than a bulky one . And finally i agree with the manners and etiquette, i once met a girl she was dressed in Gucci she had a killer outfit on,the perfect accessories and makeup but as soon as she spoke she completely crushed the image i first had of her, she was so vulgar that no matter how expensive her outfit was she looked so cheap. Ps: not to be mean or judge, the fur looks cheap and didn't help elevate the look at all and your nose contour and eyebrows and eyeliner were poorly done, at least they looked bad on camera (only pointing out these as the contrast of giving advice to look expensive when you yourself don't ) . Apologies if i offended you.

Wow all the above-listed tips are so valuable. But the last one topped all of them.I was same as you described yourself but later I realized the importance of myself for myself and I started giving importance to ME that had turned out me more confident and expressive and I am loving this transition of mine :)

I'm 57 and I went to charm school when I was just entering my pre teen. My mom wanted to make sure that I knew how to carry myself and walk properly in heels. No these skill did not project me into the upper-class but I know the rules of dinning and still at this age can strut in some heels so when entering a room it gets the proper attention, Thanks for sharing and continued blessing in 2019.

You inspired me a lot. At this point of my life,at age 27 i am confused between being a girl and a lady. I actually work wearing scrub suits and my environment is of 2 different poles. A lot of my friends at work are in their early 20s and they act like a girl and some are already moms in their late 30s. Idk where to place myself right now. I always wanted to wear classy things that suits my personality, behave and reserved. But sometimes i dont feel like i belong to my circle anymore when i wear them. But when i wear clothes for the girls, i feel not confident. So my wardrobe is a mess and always finding a hard time to pair things up. Angie I wear some dresses with flowers print and I still look elegant ( people tel me that all the time ) . I guess here in the US , women in general are not elegant , I was shocked the first time when I came here. In France , we do not wear a lot of make up and dress very simple .

cheap quality colors will wash out and fade and will look used faster, cheap black in the sun will definitely fade fast. Investing more into fewer, better quality clothing is always a smart choice, and it does not have to be high fashion designers, most of the clothing is manufactured in poorer countries using bad chemicals. Always look at the material tag, is it premium cotton, linen, wool, cashmere or silk, also some extra care will be needed - special washing powder and hand wash cycle or actually washing them by hand. But in the end the good quality materials last a lifetime. No kidding. I have crispy white linen pants that last me almost 2 decades (and i bought them for pennies in the thrift store).

It is true.The eyebrows should be thicker close to the nose and slimmer towards the temples. The eyemake-up : the wings should point upward . They are set too low.

I got the last tip as a piece of advice when I was very young and it's always stuck with me. As a young teenager I had a job that required me to have a stylist and she was an old Persian woman with old money and homes in Europe, and she always told me that in order to always look my best when people see me I have to always look my best when they do not. When you look your best you act your best and feel your best. It's something I still try and follow and definitely notice the difference in my mood and attitude even when I'm lounging at home in cute clothes.

That scent thing.. I totally get it.. I have a particular perfume I liked.. it wasn't too expensive neither cheap... I noticed that people do remember scent.. a lot. It was quite flattering when u hear from your friend that their work friends remembers that I had a very distinct flowery scent..

if classical, elegant style is not for you, that's ok. go with what you feel and look best in. this video is on what makes an outfit look expensive. there is nothing wrong with the opposite if that's what you want. you do you.

These are just tips and I don’t even like to look expensive. My style is more cute, extra and based on current trends, but I want also something elegant and Classic in my looks. like the diamond studs, simple makeup, tuck your shirt and always perfect nails will make my look even better. I want to go for the look, wow is that a celebrity and like I just came out of a fashion show😂😂. I understand that you don’t want to look simple and normal you are just like me, but if you want that Classic and elegant touch you can do something with the tips. You don’t have to follow them.

Vaiva Vaicekauskaite it doesn’t make you rich but still gives that vibes coming out from you. When go for pub party with friends you might not like to look so rich but if you wanna go on work related meeting you might want to. These tips are for such moments!

I transform myself on special events just like last week. When I met my friends mid day on that day, they said I'm a woman now. 😂 They were used to see me wear jeans and a shirt;and on that day, yep, i wore a black and white printed (on the front only) loose asymmetrical silk top,(left was sleeveless, rightarm was a loose, wide sleeve), wore a belt to enhance my figure, wore a black square pants, a black and white heels(white in front, also pointed, black on the heel part) pearl stud earrings and a white gold with a big pearl necklace. Completed the look with a Chanel black handbag and for the very first time, I wore a red lipstick) Honestly I applaud my mom for keeping her stylish clothes that she wore ages ago even before I was born. It really is true, the styles way back are now coming back as a trend now.

Me: every day I go to work.. uniforms are crisp and clean, hair is straight and shinny, conservative make-up, nice scents of Cologne, shoes is polish. Favorite diamond rings and some jewelry.. nails is polish... I look good every day.. and I bring smile to all my patients and co-workers. 1 hour a day is not a lot to do yourself.! That makes me feel expensive and classy.. and yes! Language too. And respect to everyone! 👍♥️
