This was helpful thank you! For folks looking to send specific output channels to OBS - just use the desired output channels in the first to inputs instead. In this video he sets the first two inputs to Mon L and Mon R which will send ALL Apollo signals. I set my first two inputs to output LINE 3 and LINE 4 for example. This way in Console I can control what gets sent to OBS.
I have been trying to figure this out for two days....this did it. Subscribed.
Thank you so much Tano: your channel goes directly to my favourites :)
You just saved me hours more of frustration. 😭 thank you for this video. When Luna came out I was trying to find so many workarounds without sending a physical output. This has made me so happy I could cry. Thank you! 🙏🏽

Short and sweet and to the point. Thanks! Had to come back for a refresher today, though, because routing makes my head explode :)
Oh man, I’ve been trying to figure this out for weeks. A thousand thanks for this great video. I teach college music courses and we’re of course online now. This enables me to have all my audio go to Zoom, OBS and in Canvas Studio which is our online platform. You saved the day. Awesome!

OMG!! I have been pulling my hair out (there wasn't much anyway) over this. I am 65 and a Mac (Macintosh) user since 1987! Yeah I am 65 years old. Pretty tech savy BUT this was killing me. I have been working to accomplish a quality sound method for on line lessons. (due to the quarantine) I have spent endless hours viewing youtube videos and most are hit and miss. I am using a MacPro and Catalina 10.15.5, UA Apollo Twin thunderbolt. I really wanted to say thank you for moving me down the road. a million thumbs up!

Hey man you Rock! You got right to the point and just great information! Been using the UAD Apollo 8p and Apollo Twin for a couple years now, but never had the need to really implement the Console mixer as a "stand alone" device. Without having to pull out a physical mixer for a video project I am working on, your advice here is saving me a ton of work. Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you for sharing!! BTW just subscribed!

My dude!
Was looking for something else related to this, but great tutorial! wish i found this 2 years ago when i was struggling with my apollo lol. I had a friend show me how to set it up though. One change i've done since for more flexibility is use aux L/R as 1-2 so that way i can make a mix for stream and one for my head phones and one for my speakers. As i find especially when doing stuff in DAWs the volume will be too loud for stream but perfect for my ears. In DAW i have a send on the mix bus (not master fader) to go to virtual 3-4 or in my case ADAT out since i usually use separate computers for streaming and audio. having the console digital mixer and being able to run all the FX on it makes it SUPER easy to stream WITHOUT a daw. which is super helpful when doing live shows or just chatting so i don't lose any audio quality, save energy, and don't have loud fan background noise (i have a 2019 macbook pro). Anyway hope this comment helps a few peeps!

@@TanoBrock I have a quick question! I obviously don'T have the same software version as you... Would you happen to know where the IO matrix is on an older version? Yours' has: Hardware, IO Matrix, Display, Plugins and MIDI. Mine doesn't have IO Matrix.. And although I make a living with this, I ain't familiar with the Backhand of the console! If you could help! That would be great!
Thanks for this video. It was a big help for my Apollo setup. I have two questions though. What if you have multiple Apollos? I'm using a twin, and 2 8xps. Do I only need to change one of the patches? Also, what happens to those first two mic inputs that you changed? It seems like it would make more sense to change the outputs lol. I just want to make sure I won't lose those first two inputs to the stream. Thanks for your help!
Great video and subscribed! Can you do this with Apollo solo.
Up and running, thanks Tano!! But I want to share I've found that setting channels 1 & 2 to an AUX instead of MON L & R is much more flexible, along with assigning the then displaced inputs 1 & 2 down to the unused talkback channels. So, if you're multitracking the stream and recording into a DAW simultaneously, you can record inputs 1 & 2 like normal (from the reassigned talkback channels) without the entire MON L & R bleeding in with inputs 1 & 2!!!
@Trainingsnacks
2 жыл бұрын
Can you explain this a bit more in depth with exact routing steps? What are the talkback channels?
@paulknakk1715
2 жыл бұрын
So are you setting Channels 1 & 2 to AUX L and AUX R? Then moving Inputs 1 & 2 to talkback 1 & 2? Do the UA effets still work when you assign them to a channel or do you have to operate through a DAW?
Hey man! This is great stuff - if your apollo is the one with only two channels, do you still have to switch it to the monitors L & R like you did in this video? Also, for an upcoming stream, I'm planning on playing keyboards (through my daw) and singing into my mic - can i still go through my UAD to do this or will it create complication that I'm also playing while singing / using logic?
