I am so happy I found your channel! I began my dieting journey when I was 15 (I'm 23 now), so for a good period of time I was unhappy with my body so I restricted myself and because of that I never got good and lasting results. Even though I like to study nutrition, I was never able to be consistent in my eating habits. At the beginning of 2021 I decided I wanted to act different, I wanted to lose some weight but also be healthy... I think I have the right intention in mind but I easily go back to the unhealthy habits (for me) of counting calories, weighting myself every other day, always thinking about food and feeling guilty. So now I feel hopeful for the future with Intuitive Eating! To be honest I am a little scared because I still want to lose weight and it might take a while for achieve my goals, but I know it will be better for my body and mental health taking it slow! If you have any tips to stay consistent to this approach, it would be great! Thank you so much for all your content 💙

You still still save your food for later, as soon as I'm full I put the food in a container and save for latter, even if it's just a little bit, I can add it to another meal, or make a 'garbage bowl' of leftovers

It can be hard to stop at the right time at first, try to eat very slowly and to pause after each bite, and only take the next bite if you feel that you are still hungry. You can also try to serve yourself smaller portions and only take more if you are actually hungry. Good luck!

Eating too quickly can mean that the body does not have enough time to process the amount of food and signal to the brain that it is full, so when you do stop eating and it has time to process you are at a point past satiety

Can I just ask your dietitian's opinion on weather or not not getting enough sleep at night effects hunger levels or perceived hunger levels or causes you to crave sugary foods more? I have struggled with insomnia that the Doctors haven't been able to fix for over 10 years and I find myself wanting to eat often when I'm most exhausted and craving sugary fatty foods over healthier foods. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated. (:

Try exercising more outside. I used to have this problem as well but after talking up hiking in the woods for 4 to 9 hours per day (when my bad sleep cycles start) I then never have any problems sleeping after I have been out on one of those big hikes. Helped me better then any doctors advice

I don't sleep well at all but it doesn't affect my hunger or eating habits, so the bad news is that I can't help with that, but the good news it's that it's possible to eat well without sleeping well. It's important to do the best you can for all the other factors apart from sleep, like the things I talk about in my videos! Good luck!
