Great video Parker. The single best tip in this video is this. "I wasn't very good back then" Now you are rocking it and I love how you are not afraid to show your earlier work and point out things you did wrong. Not just because everyone can learn from that, but because everyone can get the idea that it's OK to not be amazing when we start out. That's part of the process and instead of getting stuck in, I'm not good enough, I don't have the right gear, I don't have the right lights, I don't have... we just need to keep pressing forward, creating and learning. After a few years we'll hopefully be like... Parker Walbeck! ;-)
Probably my favorite video we’ve done yet!! Beautiful job Park! :)

@@xtr33me I loved this song too!
watching the evolution in ones craft is one of my favorites. complete night & day difference between both videos. reminds me when id write a song, i felt it was great for a week but then it would suck a month later, then repeat the process over and over, it never ends as were always learning.
I appreciate your honesty about your early mistakes and how you learned from them to become a better shooter. It shows great growth. Especially important as a good teacher it shows your division from ego to illustrate your transition well.
Congratulations Parker! You are one of the only ones who maintains humility in the audiovisual field. Besides providing excellent work. The colors are amazing, well graded and your videos look beautiful.
oh my goodness!! I've been watching videos how to light a scene / interview.. (im no pro.. just going to do an internal video regarding client expirience that will be presented during the quarterly organization meeting).. oh boy.. out of the 20+ videos I've watched.. you are the BEST in terms of lighting, framing, and teaching!! subscribed!!

Dude what in the hell, this was fantastic. The shots looked amazing. LOVED how you broke this video down, all the pre and post lighting, flashbacks to previous videos done at said location. Video was perfectly paced and showed explanations in a practical way. Seriously, SO helpful. So glad I found the channel! Definitely going to check out your course as well
Fun to see you shoot in this location! I’ve shot a few weddings here and the lighting is always rough with the mix of natural light from the big windows to all the yellow light inside. I love the location but trying to get shots that I actually like in there without being able to really control any of the lighting at an event always makes me feel like I’ve got my hands tied behind my back. Love what you did with your lighting in this video!
Amazing !! That is EXACTLY what I needed for a previous shoot. Wish I had seen before. Thank you Parker for this and all the other videos you did, I really like your style you rock
I've been watching your content for quite a while, and I always learn tons from you. I am only a hobbyist, but I truly appreciate how well you explain what you're doing.
I love when you throw in clips from the beginning of your filmmaking career!!
Very helpful to see you critique your own previous work and also to listen in as you think out loud while solving problems on the set. Thanks for making and posting this.
This is such a good step-by-step tutorial! :D I love how Parker takes us through his thinking process
Really loved the way you tied to dig out every possible way to make the video look better, that's what film-making is all about.
Love the content, incredible what a little lighting can do. Keep em coming, this is by far the best information available on youtube.
Its amazing to see your growth from your old footage to your current footage, I can see your determination for greatness Parker great work!
Parker, once again it is a pleasure to watch the master at work. Thank you for the informative running commentary. I always learn something new from your videos.... and in the end, I think the informal apparel worked in quite well and added some contrast to the formal background!
This is sick!! I always love when videographers show their progression!
Love the magic that unfolds in your creative process.
So helpful information, thank you so much. Hope one day we could have place and a crew to do such work.
Musician here trying to figure all this out for self-producing videos. I had no idea so much work is involved. Much more respect to people who work in visual now.
So grateful for your content! Thanks a ton! 👊🏽📽🎬
Man that was awesome!! I cannot believe the difference all the lighting option and really how much it makes a difference. This really taught me so much! Thanks Parker!!!

Wow. Fantastic and thank you for showing your before & after. It's important to see great imagery, but it's also helpful to see that it's a process and helps establish WHY the first didn't work as well. Thank you!
Thank you Parker, awesome tutorial! You have the gift of teaching! God bless you!
It's always a pleasure watching your job shadow videos. Very educational and entertaining.
First off: great video... I'm serious, I absolutely LOVE THE FACT that you showed footage of your old shoot to really demonstrate what you meant. Plus, some of us don't know much of the lingo so it's cool to get reference. Thank you sir. Subbbbbbbbbed

Woah, this is a great video! My first time watching anything from you. Everything you're talking about is very practical information, my technical knowledge definitely just leveled up. And it's really inspiring to see where you were at a few years ago because that's about where I am now. I'm going to be doing a lot more to control my lighting in the future. Thank you for sharing all of this!
So motivating to see the progress you’ve made over the years!

I am so glad to know your choice of lenses. Because I exactly own these three lenses. Sigma 20, 50 and 85 f1.4 ART. 👍🏻
I just got hired by the best Advertising Agency in the west side of Romania as a creative director and there’s a lot of pressure on my shoulders but for some reason I feel very confident in what I’m able to offer and that in part is thanks to your tutorials. I’m definitely going to purchase your course on my first payment.
Super awesome to watch you work. Thanks!
Wow..... It's really interesting seeing you work and demonstrating the depth of so many takes on the video shoot and so much detail.....i really learnt alot from this tutorial ....
Your job shadow videos are awesome! You really know your stuff.
Man these videos are sooo stuffed with knowledge!! Cheers!!
Great video man, well done. Also a good example of how we grow over time and improve as film makers.
Magnific! you're a genius in the film's world!!!
I was about to comment on his outfit but the wardrobe tips popped up :D Good job!
Great work dude, it simply goes to show the importance of lighting and framing. As they say in the movies Lights, Camera Action!
Parker this video was incredible... Thanks so much for taking time to teach us...
I just want to point out how important lighting is, especially the color of it, and white balance. The after looks much cleaner (white makes things look clean and a good "white" light that is not too much blue can make a huge difference) compared to the sun lit one especially since the sun light floods the run and blows a lot of things. Also control lighting can create the depth you want and give the picture a certain feel. It's nice to see the progression in a video and see how much of a difference a few changes can make.
Best BTS video I’ve come across. Killing it, thanks for the help 👊🏼
Hey Parker, just wanted to know how much I appreciate your content, I feel like I'm able to make incremental improvements in my videos because of your efforts. Keep up the amazing work! One question, do you ever use brightness and contrast in post production to get the look you want?
