In this video I demonstrate my methods of leveling an RV on rough uneven terrain. Please see my video on how to setup your RV in the campsite for more basic RV leveling tips for when the surface is nearly level.

Thank you for showing the blocks under the level on the rear bumper! It is hard to figure this out when you are a novice :)
What an incredible location! Just a tip, you will need to multiply your correction by two to get the level correct, this is due to having a four foot level on a trailer eight feet wide. If you need 4" of correction across 4' of level, you would need 8" of correction across 8' of trailer width
Good tip! I am putting my camper on a very uneven site next week and all the other videos I've watched have been showing me how to level a camper on basically a parking lot!

Thanks for the video. This was very helpful. New RV'er here and I have to attempt this for the first time this weekend.
I have a mess of Lynx levelers I use under normal circumstances. But I also carry around what seems to be a lot of wood blocks of various sizes. The nice thing about the orange ones I use is that they level up one inch at a time. I sometimes will use them along with wooden blocks to get the right height. I hate trying to dig holes in the hard ground. The longer the level the more accurate you can get when it comes to leveling using the method you show. I have a level mounted on the front of the 5th wheel that I can see in my rear view mirror and that helps tremendously but doesn't give me an accurate idea of how many blocks to use. Great tips here. Pat
Im watching cause Pandemic took my brick and mortar home so now I need to learn RV leveling for my new home on wheels😁
Thank you so much for sharing this video my we are moving into a camper and it's on a slope we had no idea how to level it now with confidence we can do it
Thank you so much for the info ! I just got a travel trailer and I forgot everything they told me the minute I left the dealers lol
Good to have you back!
Oh my god... ...HOW in the HELL did I never think about digging? Dude...you are a the king of waking up stupid people like me lol. This is fantastic! And, leveling with a 4' level, and stacking the blocks to gauge the lift...woa, again, I'm a moron. Thank you, so much, for this video! :)

only issue is that in some areas, if you dig down, the ranger will throw a fit. I've seen great areas get shut down due to people digging in on the high sides and not filling them back in when they leave, so please fill the holes.
I mounted a large (6inch) RV level on the front of my trailer as someone else mentioned (adhesive). I can see it in my mirror, and it helps me find the spot with the least slope while still behind the wheel. I have others on the side of my trailer for the fore and aft. Plastic leveling pads are much lighter than wood and they interlock in an offset manner so you can drive up on 3 tiers if need be. I sometimes have 3 levels under one tire and 2 levels under another to get the height I want. I still pack some lumber but not as much. As for digging holes, sometimes somebody else has already done that and you might be able to save your back. Those yellow tire locks between your tires are especially helpful on the raised side of the trailer as chocking tires 2 or 3 levels above the ground with the wedge type is not safe. "My mind is blown"! Keep up the videos.
I love when you post camping vids. It always looks awesome up there. Thanks for sharing.
Love the ideas on leveling
Looking forward to more of your Nash videos. I have a Nash 17k and plan to get out camping in it soon. (I already have a lot of videos on upgrades in my selection of videos)
Wow. Amazing site! Wish we had places like that in the mid-Atlantic!
Great Vid Amp. Looking forward to some camping trips with ya bro. Cheers dude!
Great Video! thank you for sharing. Love the idea of adding blocks under the level to find out what is needed first! funny how simple of an idea that is and yet I have never done it. Now you just need to put some of those blocks under the steps! hahaha
Super helpful! I need to do this with my trailer. Thaniks.
Thank y’all so much for sharing, really makes a difference by watching your video!
Your level would have to be the width of the trailer to have a more accurate estimation of the amount of blocks you need. Great video!
Thanks for the great ideas to make this an easier job.
excellent video! Thanks!
Thank you, it did help a lot.
Very nice..one of the better videos I've seen on this subject.
Excellent. Thanks.
Awesome video. Thank you
that is real world rv leveling.

Ez and helpful..
What lake? I didn't catch if you mentioned it. Beautiful
awesome video! which lake is this? up island?
Nice video! Any chance you wanna share the camping spot details?
Get some Andersen levelers instead of boards they are super nice cause you just drive up until your level you would still need to dig the one side the way you did cause they aren't that big
great idea .. but what if the slope was triple that ?
Thanks Bud. How do you find your boondocking spots?

beautiful spot man, hope to find something like that myself
Great video and I'll certainly be referring to this again. However, I'm constantly having problems leveling my Travel Trailer. After following the steps to level it side to side, I then lower the stabilizers and extend the slide-out. When I check to see if the leveling was held, I'm always having to relevel with my slide in the open position. The manual states to level first before extending the slide, but its not working well for me. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thank you.

Your slide may be heavy enough to be causing a decent lean once out. You could solve this by leveling the trailer slightly higher on the non slide side and then once the slide goes out its perfect.

Very clever the technique of using the carpenters level on the back bumper because once it is level with the slide in, you can figure out the required adjustment to compensate for the slide weight. Get the slide out and use cardboard pieces to shim the level back to center. If you flip it over and use that offset with the slide in the actual camper will be a bit off but once that the slide is out, the camper should be perfectly level. The compensation for the slide weight being in the shimmed level.
Is that a 1500 series truck?
Should do another video showing how you get that trailer out of there…
Nice video but how in the world did you turn around to leave?

There was a small place to back the trailer up the hill into that barely fit. It works to turn around but isn't easy.
Man I thought this was going to be the answer but my trailer is level side to side but is way off front to back, way more than the stock levelers will do.

Use the tongue jack to level front to back. If you do not have enough height bring a 6x8 wood block to give u an extra 6" of height. Add 2x8 blocks if u need even more hieght.
I’m not sure why you have to dig. Doesn’t that spoil the scenery for others? Nice trick with putting leveling blocks under the level. Thanks for that!

I fill the holes back in when I leave. I always leave the campsite in better condition then I find it and I teach my kids the same.
Please don’t dig to correct a site to make it level for your setup. This is terrible for the next person camping there when walking around. And if a few people do this it will begin to destroy an already never section of ground. This will lead to puddling and wash out during heavy rains.
If it hitches to the bumper, it’s a travel trailer, if it hitches in the back of your pickup bed, it’s a fifth wheel, if you drive it and live in it then it’s an rv There’s a big difference Bumper pulls and fifth wheels are NOT rvs

@@kevinkappel8560 trailers don't have an engine like RVs, so they are not stand alone vehicles... not a difficult concept to grasp!
omg PEOPLE JUST BUY LEVELING BLOCKS THIS IS INSAIN
Dude you putting pot holes in the site. Also when it rains the holes will fill up.... Why work that f.... hard?
You gotta be new at this
Quick question does that thing hang like a horse ???
