How-to: LEGO Stunt Rally Wrench

We're building Wrench's car from LEGO Stunt Rally! I really like to build stuff from these older games. As a child I never quite knew how to build them. Also having the right pieces in the correct colours was always a struggle. With this serie I hope I can make it easier for everybody to make their favourite LEGO creations to scratch that nostalgia itch. Unfortunately I cannot make videos about all the of cars. Some of them use pieces that simply don't exist in real life. But I'll do as many as I can. 😁
I had a blast rebuilding the garage from the game. You think you remember exactly how something looked when spending so much time there. But I never noticed the purple hoses for example. So it was kind of like replaying the game for the first time. Designing the UI (user interface) was a bit of a challenge. This game originally came in a 4:3 ratio. My video's are mostly 16:9, so that meant updating all the visuals to the modern times. I also changed some icons, to be made out of actually LEGO. I hope you'll notice them.
Wrench is a fun character. I really like his face design and his car is really cool. There is also an actual set of this called the LEGO Scorpion Buggy (6602). That set is slightly different to the Stunt Rally version, but not much. That model has has flames at the back, which you could add as well.

The "juniorized" city/technic crossover builds were something else. I can't say I liked them back then, as the pre junior builds where my thing back in 2000, but now.. they have charm. Also, the slow jazz music is just pure "Lego city at night".

Yeah, they look very nice. It's also nostalgia playing a role, of course. But they have a lot of charm. I appreciate these sizes for the cars. I quite like these longer builds, because we can hear more of the song. 😋
I love how some of the bricks come straight from the top but others will slide in from the sidr or shrink down, great attention to detail!

This was one of the few Stunt Rally sets I had growing up, I'd be delighted to build it again when I get the chance to try that suspension again. And Wrench was my second favorite driver player in the game!

Wrench was always my favorite of the main 4 drivers! I recently did a crossover build using Wrench's livery with a Drome racers car on my IG the other day. Great timing, love the vid!
