How-to: Lego Racers 2 Sam Sinister

Baron von Bar.. ehh.... Sam Sinister is back! He is the boss character from Dino Island in LEGO Racers 2. He is known for leaving oil stains on the ground, which make you spin out. But if you upgraded your car, you'll overtake him easy and never have to deal with oil. 😁
It'll always be a mystery why his name has changed to Sam Sinister and why his hook is now a normal hand. I also wished he made a reference to the first game, but he never did. So I kept the animation mostly the same to the original game, because in my mind he is still Baron von Barron.
His car is actually a released LEGO set called the Island Racer (5920). He even has the hook hand in the official set, weirdly enough. I did change one of the parts. For some reason they added a yellow brick behind the steering wheel. You can actually see this piece when you look at it past the exhaust pipes. It was probably done to use some leftover inventory or something, but it doesn't look good, in my opinion. So I changed to to black so it looks more complete.

Yeah I thought the same. I think it was too much trouble to include that character with a hook hand in-game. But it adds so much character. Oh well, I’m glad we got to see him in LR2. 😁
Looks great! What always confused me about LR1 is that not only was this dude called Baron von Barron, but there was ALSO an npc racer with a black top hat called Sam Sinister who wasn't even racing in his circuit. And that different character was also called Sam Sinister in Lego Football/Soccer Mania. Really weird

Yeah LEGO seemed to go in all directions with those two characters. Not sure why that is, but it adds soms mystery to the LEGO lore. 😜

His name was also misspelled in the game. Something was going on during development. 😜

@@StudframeAnimations You could argue its a misspelling but since this guy has like a million different names to the extent even Lego Island 2 made a joke about it, this could be hand waved as "Oh he's changed his name again"

I thought about that. But the how to build section will be quite short. Also white LEGO rock monsters don’t exist. 😜

Thank you so much! Yes, in the official set and in LEGO Racers 1 he has the hook hand. But in LEGO Racers 2 he doesn’t. Not sure why, but I thought it was best to stay somewhat close to the game. So that’s why it’s a normal hand. 😁

It looks a bit odd yes. 😂 I could make a behind the sense community post to show some stuff. It's mostly weird floating LEGO bricks and minifigs.
Oh yeah, I even rebuilt it in *"Lego: 2K Drive"* After a video tutorial.

In the game, he is known as Sam Sanister. Also I think his introduction should be more akin to his introduction in Lego Racers 2: "You may have beaten those poor fools but I think you will find me much harder to beat! Let's Race!"

Yeah that has to be a typo from the developer right? 😜 I found that quote strange because you also race against Mr Cunningham, who is his partner. Sam Sinister is an evil villain of course but that doesn’t make sense to me.
