@@SuperTrucker-t2x this kit is not for that body style but the same website gen5diy I believe I saw on there the harness for the new body style so I believe it would work long as you get the new body style harness . Message them to verify though

They won’t work correctly with out the harness from Gen5diy.com. www.gen5diy.com/collections/gen5diy-truck-products/products/19-20-silverado-led-headlight-harness On that website you can buy the harness for 400 for the led headlights and they don’t require reprogramming. On the other question - Yes fog lights work with the headlight too . Note - The fog lights will require the vehicle to get reprogrammed at a Chevy dealership

Nice bro 🤙. Glad it helped . Side markers just come on yes with remote start. That’s how there programmed . Curtain DRL’s only should come on when it’s in drive during the day time. You can put it in drive and have the estop on and test it .

@@trucknz7158 been running great . Zero issues . Yes I’ve seen the AFM deletes. Prob not a bad idea to turn it off . Prob cause issues one day . I’ve never really noticed mine kick in anyways . Maybe the tires keep it in V8 all the time possibly.

Thanks bud. It was $3k . Grills $800 from gmpartswarehouse.com and the lights and harness I bought as a kit from Gen5DIY.com. That’s all brand new. You can resell your grill and lights and make back least 1k on eBay , Facebook etc. I’ve seen better deals on lights and grilles tho if you search around on eBay , different parts dealers . The one thing you definitely have to have tho if you buy it separately is the wire harness adapter and you can buy that separately from Gen5DIY.com I think it’s $150. Just plug and play into headlights and factory harness and makes it where you don’t have to reprogram truck

Unfortunately LT grill won’t fit the headlights on the custom. The V on the side of the grill that goes over the headlights wouldn’t have any where to clip into the headlights on the custom. The LT and up headlights have a clip built into the headlight.

The factory harness plugs into the harness that comes from gen5diy. It’s a short maybe 3’ long wire harness . The gen5diy harness plugs into the headlight . There is no separate wire for a turn signal. There’s only one plug in on the bottom of the head lamp and the harness plugs into that and controls headlight / turn signal etc

No the bow tie grill fits only the LED or HID headlights . Custom grill only fits the custom headlights

Yes it will work. Custom non trail boss would work same as well . It’s pretty simple plug and play . You’ll just need to order the harness adapter off gen5diy.com and get you a set of LED headlights . I ordered my grill from gmpartswarehose.com. It’s just the LT grill. You can pick any style you like they all hook up the same .

Is there a huge difference in light output? Do you think if the light output was the only thing that changed, not just looks, would you do it again for the money? I have an LT with the LED's and light output is trash but I dont want to drop that kinda coin if the lights arent a ton brighter

I’m not sure if the HID LED’s in the Silverado vs the LED in Silverado for mere brightness is worth the value since Ive got no personal experience between the two. I’ve never road in the Silverado with the LED lights but I’ve heard the HID LED’s are a lot brighter but I can’t compare myself . The HID LED brightness in the Silverado is extremely bright tho. I can compare to my wifes 2019 LT Traverse with the regular LED lights and I hate driving it at night the lights dont shine very bright especially when raining . I’d rather drive halagen or HID lights compared the led lights in a traverse thats for sure . Now I can say that I’ve got my entire windshield tinted 20% on my Silverado which is really dark and with these HID lights I can see just like it’s not even tinted at all at night . I’ve also added the led fog lights for looks but they light up the Road real nice too . If you don’t have those fog lights maybe try them first and you may be ok . Money wise if you upgrade to HID there expensive but you can sell your current LED set and make a lot of money back so may not be that much of a loss after all said and done.

@@1rustyshackelford good point on the core charges. If you go with Fog lights first maybe think about GEN5DIY for there wire harness. They’ve got some custom plug and play ones that lets them stay on all the time or come on with different times then how Chevy comes programmed . Mine I had done at dealership and there programmed by the dealer through chevrolet and the fog lights turn off with the high beams . Then also every time I start my truck I have to turn on the fog lights separate with the gm fog light switch but would be nice if they just came on with the headlights and stayed on all the time .

Thanks bud. No you don’t have to cut or anything. Just swap out the headlights and the grill. The body is all the same just different grill and headlights. You do have to add a headlight harness that plugs into your existing wire harness and the new lights that you can get from Gen5DIY that’s just plug and play that make everything work correctly so your truck knows your new head light set up .

Yes it works same as factory. No reprogramming required. The harness is all you need that you buy with the kit . It makes it plug and play into the truck and led headlights and works same as it would of come from the factory . It’s actually a gm harness that’s been rewired and made specifically for this

Yes it’ll work with the original ones too. I’ve got the GM oem ones their the high country style HID. I don’t think you would need to do much besides just swap your lights out . I believe your harness would already work just plug and play . Double check with gen5diy too be sure

No there is no error codes. It works same as it came from the factory . The new wire harness is a gm led harness that’s rewired to work with the custom wiring . Easy plug and play

It’s all gm plugs that they use so it’s plug and play & is like a adapter where the lights are programmed little different then halogen lights but it keeps you from having to get your truck reprogrammed to make the lights work. Very easy . Then you can buy the headlights from gen5diy too if you want or eBay or gm ,

Drivers side LH. : 84621852 Passenger side RH : 84621853 The difference in the normal LT leds are there not HID lights. HID lights are much brighter . The V on the lights are different on the HID lights too. It’s a wider curtain V vs the led is a small V

They were new from gm. High country HID LED’s. You can get a kit with them and the wire harness from Gen5DIY as well that they get from gm for you

Here’s a video to help the next one that does this conversion. It’s nothing fancy but it’ll give you the info you need to do the job your self . Hope it helps

I’ve not seen any use the AKKON conversion kit so can’t say but the website shows it’s works. Pricing is great though compared to GM OEM parts For $999 be worth it to try and see how you like it. Back when I did mine was back in 2019 and there wasn’t any options back then for aftermarket.

Custom grill doesn’t have the V that covers the LED headlight. Grille would fit yes but the headlights won’t have the V from the grille so it would look bad

Yes you can . Mine was a custom trail boss but all the customs and other 1500 trims it’s same fenders so lights and grills can swap around long as you set the wiring up

Wat is the harness exactly for?

The harness is plug and play into the trucks wire harness and into the new led headlights with out reprogramming your truck to make them work . With out the harness the lights will not work correctly with the custom harness. The harness also comes with the resisters which makes the led lights not flicker .

How did you do the custom grill lettering?

I put them on myself. They use 3M sticky tape . There abs plastic inserts I Ordered from limitless parts . There maybe $35. Easy takes like 15 mins .

The harness got it yesterday from gen5Diy the are close from where I live here in Arizona , the grill I got it from eBay used high country grill $200 with minor issues works perfect nothing noticeable. The headlights got it from EBay vendor “victocar” $479 each brand new

I would just replace the stock halogen bulbs with led's and save 2800.00

Not a bad idea if you just wanted leds bulbs but that’s not why I changed them. I wasn’t a fan of the way the custom grille or custom headlights looked. Wanted the Bow tie grille and the aggressive High Country HID LED headlights and that was the look I was going for.

HELL NO. LED in halogen reflectors is a NO, NO! halogen is not meant for HID/LED.

Did you buy the headlight harness from Gen5DIY and connect it to Them and your truck . They won’t with out it .

@@alextvlogs4016 yes it’s plug and play. It’s easy. To convert over takes about 1.5-2 hours and that includes taking off the grill and swap time on head lights .

Genius..I would've did this too but I had to get rid of that 2.7l crap engine..I could've made the exterior a monster but underneath that still remained a Honda civic engine in a 6000lb truck🤣

DRL lights up in drive not in the park during the day. Try this .. put the parking break on and put the truck in drive. Get out and check it again . I bet it is on

You can get lights and grill from the Chevy dealerships or buy online off some various sites like eBay , gmpartswarehouse. Gen5DIY sells the lights and the harness also as a kit and there new from chevrolet. High Country lights and the LT Trail boss grill

@@muddywaters0819 I ended up selling the truck last year and getting a different truck now but I never had any issues . The lights they sent me came right from gm. It’s oem. The harness they make from gm parts too so I’d imagine you would last same time frame as if it came that way from the manufacture

@@muddywaters0819 no problem bud. yes just need the lt style grille and head lights and then the wire harness gen5diy sells . It’s all plug and play . Takes about 2 hours . Most body shops if you didn’t feel like putting it on would charge about $250 to put it on but it’s really easy .

Thanks bud . I had two lifts on it . In the pic of the video I’m running the 10” Mcgaughys Suspension lift , 37x13.50 Amp Attack Tires, 22x14 TIS 544 BM wheels. In the video it’s the first lift I had on it. Was 6” RC suspension lift , 35x12.50 Nittro Trail Grapplers, 20x12 Fuel Sledges

That’s the 4” Rough Country Trail Boss lift on top of the trail boss 2” lift which is same as a 6” lift on the Trailboss .

In this video I’m running 35x12.50’s Nitto Trail Grapplers , 20x12 -44 offset Fuel Sledge wheels . 4” Rough Country Trail boss suspension lift but with the trail boss it makes it a 6” lift . Now I’m running a 7-10” Mcgaughys Lift set at 10”. Same wheels and tires . About to size up to prob 37’s

@@team_oneill_4306 I have the 2020 Trail Boss LT 5.3....will that fit on my truck with the 2" lift? Or do I need to lift more for 20x12 to fit and prevent contacting truck?

@@SeacoastHockeyOfficials im not for sure on that . 6” lift total is what I was running back in that video and it was a tight fit. I think a 4” lift may require trimming to fit them . Height wise it’ll work but the fender and bumper may need trimming . 20x9’s definitely works with a 4” lift . 20x10’s maybe not sure on that as well

@@SeacoastHockeyOfficials if your talking about the 2” stock lift that comes on the truck I wouldn’t think it would work but may with some trimming idk on that .
