One thing I found useful is to tag along the admitting doctor/ on call SHO. This is useful because you can ask them to take a history/ examine patients before they are admitted, then by presenting your findings to the doctor it helps you think about possible diagnosis and management before one is set in plan. Also, focus on one or a couple of patients a day and read on their conditions when consolidating at home.

before medical school I spent 10 years as an ED nurse as most medical students I've interacted with could have done with watching this! there is so much you can learn even on the most "boring" medical rehab ward. The more you put in the more you get out! Don't be afraid to go with other members of the MDT you'll be working with them so its worth knowing what they actually do.

The thing is we are never allowed to leave the ward before 14:00 And also our wards are very crowded that lowered the possibility of learning to almost zero .

I would really really appreciate if you could put subtitles on your videos. As a non english speaking person it gets quite hard to follow sometimes, specially because of the accent. Thank you so much!

shaljir wards are where the patient’s are found. Each ward houses approximately 30 patients on average. Each ward is split in to several bays which are gender based..ie male/female bays. A typical hospital corridor may have several wards. Hope that helps :)

I completed my med school and confused whether to join postgraduate for next 3 years because i don't think that i will not attain both time freedom and money freedom while spending most of my times working in wards. I' m confused what to do because I don't have any skill other than learnt from med school and stuck in between my life. Can you tell what I need to do in life.

This is so true, this is my second year doing wards. And the first year and even now I’m still sadly not learning much from the wards at all. I’ve completely Wasted it and cheating during ward by not taking histories and just copying from patient’s medical ticket. I just usually spend time in ward thinking when will it be over 🥹
