I like the same reveal on both sides. Basically layout your herringbone bigger than the opening. Then move the opening left or right until you get the same reveal on both ends. But some guys want the point centered in the opening, I’d rather have the same raveal on both sides of the opening. To each his own. God bless
Ryan. You always do great work. If you didn't say you made a mistake most people wouldn't have noticed. Keep up the great job.

I appreciate that! I always try my best to avoid mistakes, The mistake I was referring to was to make the herringbone a little bit bigger. I think it would have looked better,, in my opinion.
You should teach science brother! you are a great teacher.
That is really nice
Hey Ryan..I do follow your Channel and without hesitation, you are a Master Mason for sure. But no one is perfect...Lol. I have seen your mistake made before, so don't feel so bad...but quite simply your right hand cut brick to edge, is your second course brick, not part of your first course set out!! The other consideration is not only to set out, so that your cuts are the same either side...but to set out so that your top and bottom cuts are equal too. Keep up the good work John Hutcins New Zealand
Great job! "Please try using some Reggae in the background music in your videos, if possible."

Looks good but when I do that kind of work I use the 6" square every course

Thanks!
its a decent job and i like herrigbone panels , but personally i would have just built that stack all in the stone used, its just dosen't go in my opinion,,, maybe cutting a section out in the brickwork if wanted to add some herringbone ,would look much better next to brick,
Great job. I'd say you forgot to compensate on the top edge for your mortar material. When you laid out you pattern on the board, you lined the bricks up to the edge of your line.
A good man admits a mistake, but a great craftsman can make it "disappear"
Very nice presentation

Thank you! Cheers!
All cuts should mirror each side, you need to set out from the perpendicular centre of the panel!

Yeah, if you notice on the other side that there is no cut, the cut off the brick is right at the end. So either way you would still have a cut on one side,
Can't see what the mistake is, sometimes tile guys don't like slivers, that's all i can think of.

The pattern is not centered. The middle triangle piece in the first course needs to move left. That or Sanjay put too much water in the mix.
Square and boat level
Could you have shifted the pattern over so the small pieces weren't necessary

No matter what there will be cuts on the side, shifting the pattern won't make a difference
