A good advice is to disconnect the Powerplug to the trailer, otherwise you might have popped fuses.

Test kill cord before leaving the trailer with engine in the water

Hmm, some cars like some BMW and Mercedes models have their remote parking assist function where you can be outside the car and move it backwards and forwards with your phone app or car key. I wonder if that could be used for that last bit of backing down the boat ramp!! 😅 You might just be close enough to the car to accept your commands (it won't work if you're too far away)! But I guess it will refuse to work with a trailer attached, as it will block the rear sensors which it relies on...😞 Car manufacturers need to add the option of using that function with the trailer!!

Nice and easy in that location. I'm in Cardiff at the top end of the Bristol channel, which has a rise and fall of 13m plus and the tide rips in and out 😂

I often launch my boat (an aluminium 6.2m hardtop) solo, and the process I've worked out that works well for me is: 1. Before launching tie a painter from a midship cleat up to the bow and around the trailer and back to the cleat where it's tied off 2. Back the trailer down the ramp till the water is about half-way up the trailer wheels 3. Unhitch the winch - the boat is now held just by the painter 4. Get in the boat & start the engine & when ready, put it in gear so it's pushing forward a bit 5. Untie the painter and pull it quickly inboard - if the boat starts to slip, tie it off again and apply a bit more power 6. Ease off on the power so the boat slides off the trailer in a controlled manner 7. Manoeuvre to the jetty, tie off and go & park the car Main things that can go wrong is not having the trailer far enough in the water, causing the boat to race off the trailer too quickly, forgetting to unhitch the winch so that when you untie the painter nothing happens, and forgetting to put the bung in so I have to immediately put the boat back on the trailer perform the walk of shame to put it in (all of which I have done!). Funnily enough the one time I had a mishap truly deserving of a fail video was on one of the few occasions I was boating with a friend. I hopped into the boat to start the motor, and he was so excited he release the winch without waiting for me to signal I was ready. The motor wasn't even started and it was rolling rapidly off the trailer! To make matters worse, he had released the catch by not the cable. So the boat was swinging sideways on the cable. I had to get the motor started, straighten up while just off the trailer and the drive forward so he could unhitch it. To make matters worse he had hit his hand on the spinning winch handle. Fortunately just bruised, but painful none-the-less. My fault of course - I should have conducted a proper briefing & not assume he knew what he was doing :)

Thanks for the education. A gimbal would've been nice though. It's a little shaky.

I would never disconnect the last Lines befor the Engines are running. If there comes suddenly a strong Wind or a Wake from a passing by Boat, yur are suddenly in the water with no Chance to controll the Boat 😢

Could you make a video on how to end up on the fail army channel, while launching a boat?

Step 1 should be: sell roller trailer and buy a bunk trailer to ensure you don't become internet famous.

Oh no! We're back with a dad's wobbly-camera home movie. This looks like amateur phone footage, so please give them a proper camera with IBIS, attached to a gimbal.
