Now the rock was a smooth idea. Always a safe bet incase the tire wants to slip. Thanks for the tutorial.

I put a guide pole on each side of the boat on my trailer that way when I pull my rope to load the boat it’ll guide it up on my trailer a lot easier than me having to break my back putting so much muscle in to it... my hand crank wench comes in handy lol but most places u go to don’t have a dock at all to tie to lol so I reckon I’ll take a cinder block to tie my rope to while I park my vehicle n trailer then when I’m done I’ll tie it to it again so I can back my trailer back in to the water.... or if a sturdy tree is close to the water I’ll tie off to a tree lol thanks for the video! I never thought of chalking my vehicle but a small brick will do the job for that lol thank u again for the video

I hate those busy lakes where you got 10 trucks on boat ramp trying to load and unload

I have a four cylinder Jeep Yj. Would it be able to pull and launch a jon boat?

I think so, the setup is pretty light, I'd estimate under 1k lbs.

Was thinking it was light enough that you could launch without putting hubs in the water?

Hey man , I plan on getting a john boat in the future, but I own a Ford ranger and it's only 2wd would it be safe to launch a boat with. I'm probably over worrying about it but just want to get someone with experience to justify

I haven't had to use 4wd on my Manual Jeep yet, but I'd be careful on steep ramps and when it gets a little icy, other than that the Ranger is perfect!

Sebastian Arteaga I found me a little cheap 4wd geo tracker to use just got fishin... it not pretty but it don’t gotta be cuz I’m just gonna scratch it up getting in to my fishin holes lol and I’ll be going solo most of the time so I’ll be doing my unloading/loading by myself lol good luck bub!

I've got a 15' jon boat with a 25hp Merc off the back and use a 2wd Ranger and haven't had an issue yet! I only use concrete ramps, as anything loose (rocks, shells, etc) gets a little dicey if it gets wet. As long as you dont dip into the water, start back up the ramp properly, and aware of the conditions you'll be ok. Have seen some guys pull up in a 2500 Silverado hauling the same boat and gotten a chuckle at that. Just remember to watch out for slick ramps at low tide and at the end of day!

Kind of lame. Don't really care about what gear you use with a 4-wheel drive jeep. Wanted to see what you did once the trailer was in the water to get the boat off, then get it back on. Too much focus on sun glasses and being cool, not enough on actually showing how it was done.

The best thing to do is tie the other end of the rope to something on your vehicle. Are use a carabiner, and attach it to the hook inside my truck bed. Once the boat is floating, I drive forward enough so the truck is clear of the water. Untie or unclip the rope and pull the boat off to the side and beach it, or tie it to the dock. Go park the truck, hop in the boat and off you go. Bon Voyage!
