This is me. I had all of those risk factors. I've had this since early childhood. I improved at different points in my life, but now in middle age after a very difficult adulthood, the struggle is worse than ever. Added to that, I live in isolation from my supportive family.

It is riddled with half information and it misleads into more of toxic shame - on top of the existing one.

My favourite explanation of shyness versus introversion is from Susan Cain, she said if you want to know the difference, think of Bill Gates - he's highly introverted (prefers to spend his time alone), but he's not at all shy (doesn't give a damn what you think of him). I think I have social anxiety, I never voluntarily go anywhere, I work from home and always have my camera off and say almost nothing in meetings. The few friends I had over the years I don't communicate with anymore. The idea of going to a party or a wedding is inconceivable to me. But then, I think it is better this way, there is already enough noise and menace in the world without me contributing to it.

Think of whatever you choose to do in your daily life just don’t do or at least keep it to a minimum that is don’t go to extreme in your thinking about others and in your acts. You will feel better. Have fun😄

I have social anxiety because people ARE judging me. I am Conservative and most around me are not. I am ridiculed often. I say this as an accomplished journalist for 40 years.

Apologies but I don’t quite understand videos like this. ICD-11 is pretty self-explanatory. Do we need endless re-worded versions floating around online?

The words are the same. I think you mean this is repeated endlessly lacking new insight or context.
