Tbh most kids with “old souls” are just neurodivergent, emotionally neglected, or both.

old soul is just code for “you didn’t get your autism diagnosed until you were at least in 3rd grade”

Any kid with an "old soul" is absolutely being emotionally neglected (from an old adult kid who was regularly called that)

This tracks for my experience. I wasn't "wise beyond my years," I just had autism and lot of unmitigated anxiety and depression.

Idk. I associate it mostly with being emotionally intelligent or being very quick to learn, at least those seem to be the things people are commenting on when they use it for me. I've never been diagnosed with ASD. I just have ADHD haha
