Im looking for a suitable stitch that works nicely when you change your colours sometimes every row. I was thinking of double moss stitch (seed stitch ) but it doesn’t look nice when you change colours lots… im working towards doing a temperature blanket starting 1st January. Happy for your input as to any simple stitch that looks good when colour changing a lot. Thanks so much. I’ll do a swatch of this little beauty to see how it looks with random colour changes.

I think when changing colours often you just can’t beat garter stitch 🥰

What about your terrific chevron stitch. I’ve made two of these blankets but in blocks of strips. Wondering how it would look with lots of colour changes. I’m just thinking for a year long challenge garter stitch might get boring.

Thank you so much for your great and timely replies….. im still pondering as to what stitch to do ! The colours are the focus of the blanket in this case (temperature blanket ) however I dont want to get bored over the space of a year and I want the weight and the texture of the blanket to be appealing, of course. I’ve chosen an 8ply cotton for its comfort value (Sydney , australia ). Im wondering if a 3.75 mm needle might give more substance to the finished blanket.. TIA.

can you do this on k2P2 rib also? is it less stretchy than plain rib, I am looking to use it on leg warmers from ankle to over the knee and wondering if it is suitable to both hug leg and expand when needed.

This isn’t really a traditional rib so doesn’t have the stretchiness you’d need.
