How to keep your Road To Glory realistic (& 5 Best RTG teams!)

For this we’ll be mainly looking at the English League, but everything in this video can be applied to saves in France/Germany & Spain!
Follow the league's transfer trends
Top Flight - Sign whoever you want
Second - Sign players from lower leagues and better european countries
Third - Sign players not good enough for second league and 3rd & 4th leagues
Fourth - Sign players from this league and maybe the irish league, no where else. Loans too.
Top Flight - 85 - try to not sign superstars
Second - 74 - You're not going to get up and coming players but 23-30 year olds who arent starters from prem are possible
Third - 68 - young players from championship + players too good for league 2
Fourth - 64 - only players from that league/ireland
YA Scouting:
Top Flight - 3x 5* scouts
Second - 2x 3* scouts
Third - 2x 1* scouts

FSV Zwickau had quite a bit of success back in the 50s, where they became East Germany's first champions. However, like most east German teams, Zwickau struggled with the reunification of German football, and were never able to replicate their success.
Kaiserslautern. One of the saddest stories football has to offer. The club were always a big team throughout the 20th century, and practically lifted the 1954 World Cup alongside West Germany. Fritz Walter, the club's great legend, was an icon of the game. Around the 1990s however, they fell from grace into the 2nd division. However, a recently appointed Otto Rehhaggel (who also won the 2004 Euros with Greece) managed the side to an instant title win back from the 2nd tier. The club remained a mid table team, but fell into money issues after upgrading their stadium at a poor time. 20 years on from winning the Title, they're surviving relegation to the regional divisions by the skin of their teeth.
Wrexham, Famous owners, big money and one of worst teams in game. Realistic big spending RTG. Links to Wales so also possible club and country save.
Sutton United, FA Cup Giant Killers, Play tika-taka in Division 4. Had no money until made it to FA Cup 4th round, used playing Arsenal to develop squad and stadium.
FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin, Have the most footballers in Germany. 1,600 players are attatched to the club. From Berlin, can you win the Bundesliga before Hertha?

When I do RTG saves, I always make sure I simulate some chunk of the season, whether that's half the season so I only play each team once myself or a select amount of games. This is so that I can test how good my team actually is without me controlling them and therefore see how good my managerial skills are in terms of buying and selling players, creating a system that produces good results etc. Also makes the game go quicker which helps if you don't have much time to play video games.

For a good RTG I recommend Leyton Orient, one of London’s oldest teams and at a time had been in the EFL for over a hundred years before their relegation into the national league and promotion back into league two after two years in the national league.

Without a doubt one of the best to do regarding the immersion and satisfaction aspect is Leyton Orient. While Create a Club is fun I'd argue Making Paris FC overtake Psg and 1860 Munich overtake Bayern are also really fun challenges (1860 actually used to be the best team in Germany lol). Nottingham Forest and Preston are great for their European and English history respectively (Forest won back to back UCL's and Preston won The first ever Division 1/Premier League then also went back to back to top it off). Spurs is good because you'll NEVER get tired of winning trophies. While making a team of Galacticos at Real never gets old and establishing a New Roman Empire over at Mou's Roma is a fun challenge, I'd say Newcastle is probably the funnest Career mode as you can spend a Billion every window and not even feel guilty 😂.

One thing I've liked to do is only sign players either from the area, or common wealth style. British team only signing players from UK, Australia, or US. Spanish team only signing players from Spanish speaking countries. French team with French speaking countries and youth academy etc

How I do it: . Don't SIM. Play most, or better all games insteadt. 2. Keep your talents from the beginning and take them with dynamic potential to the end. 3. Don't buy Wonderkids, look for hidden gems who are about 75 Potential and boost their potential. 4. Loan as many players as possible who got less playtime to boost their potential That's pretty much how a more realistic RTG works.

You could do something like adding consolidation type season's in where you can't make transfers in except for youth academy - whilst also limiting what you're allowed to take in in terms of potential. Irl you'll get teams making a relatively fast rise from national league to league 1 (Lincoln, Fleetwood, Burton) and then settling at that level and this could replicate that effect. Then maybe the selling of one or two of those or a key first team player finances your next promotion.

I accept offers on players in my 1st 11, provided the bidder is a bigger club than mine, but not so big that the player won't make the bench. However I think it is acceptable to decline if I've already sold 3 of my regular starters in the summer transfer window or 2 in January.

In My RTG's or even just normal career modes if a player gets way too good for my team and we also perform poorly i would usually accept any offer from a bigger team than the one im managing to make it a little realistic for example i did a villa career mode and bailey grew to 89 within 2 and a half seasons so i ended up selling him as we were only in conference league and its unrealistic for him to stay at that point if teams like man u psg and real were offering

I did a Paris Fc save where I kept everything pretty realistic. For some reason it took three seasons to make it to Ligue 1, that's still not too bad. 2 seasons in I haven't made it to any European competitions, think that's fair but for some reason in my third season I went on a 14 game unbeaten run and won the league, after selling by far my best player (85 rated Morgan Goulivagoui going for about 90m) and investing that in a good goalkeeper, a cdm and a cm, and later a striker as well... these weren't even like the best players, they were an 83 rated goalkeeper, an 80 rated defensive midfielder, an 82 rated midfielder and an 80 rated striker. I just wanted reinforcements to maybe get a top 6 spot after finishing a disappointing 16th the season before, while we seemed to have already established ourselves as a mid table club, finishing 9th in our first season, which was realistic compared to the squad we had.

Im doing a german rtg (FIFA 23) SV Lüneburg 08. They are in Regionalliga Nord but I created them in 3.Liga and changed the name a bit. I didn't make any signings in summer and winter. And somehow i got promoted. Im currently in the start of 2. Bundesliga and try to make signings in winter. I only just signed some academy players and I will start growing them. My mission is become the biggest club in North Germany. Since the majority of good german clubs are in South/West because German Football was divided with East Germany. So i will try to make the North good again

I’m doing a Wrexham save now. Paul mullin and jordy Davies are my untouchables. Currently in my third season and I’m 2nd place in league 1. The team is pretty much the same but with Tom Bloxham as a 69 rated strike partner, and Ollie Palmer coming off the bench at a 67 rating. I did sign Anthony Glennon from grimsby last year because we got promoted and they stayed in league 2. He’s tied for the highest rating with mullin at 70 ovr. I’m expecting bids to come in for him and Bloxham this summer. If we get promoted, I have plans to change formation from 5-3-2 to a 4-3-3 and buy Ben Woodburn at 69 ovr and have a welsh youth academy winger on loan that’s at 68. Maybe Archie collins to replace Bloxham up top. I’m trying to keep the Welsh theme alive but want to bring in a Korean or argentine winger into the club. Might also sign marlon fossey since rob is American and fossey has his contract up at his club this summer.

No "end of season" free transfers (it's a cheat, we all know the game has no AI and teams just don't renew contracts). No Academy (another EA cheat, as you pointed out). I'm doing a Newport. Cheers. PS: I develop all my players in the academy but never play a game with them, I promote and sell them all. I won't even mention the fact that I already had a 72 rated player with 96 potential at the start of my save, and even 1-star scouts still find players that are too unrealistic. I would rather use your other rules and do a financial takeover than touch the academy or the free agent market. Oh, and no using internet databases to find the fiftysomething payer with eighty-something potential ;) buy only players found by your scouts.

@@idkstudios7927 Yes you can. It's the "special" youth player EA gives to people who have EA Play, at least on PC and Xbox, or whatever it is called (used to be the "scout a future star" feature). I never had, nor will ever have mods in my FIFA. Guess you should inform yourself better before accusing other people of cheating (mind you, it does not mean he will become a player with 96 potential, that's the max and it tends to fluctuate, however, the EA "superstar" offer tends not to lose his ratings, from what I've seen in other utubers saves, I sold him as soon as I could).
