Thanks alot man. Works like a charm. I have aftermarket fogs. For awhile I had them on switch so I could have them on whenever. But now that there wired to the factory switch. I'm glad I seen yer video.

In most states it's illegal to run fog lights on when your high Beem is on the relay is design to turn off your fog lamps when you switch to high Beem it serves a purpose.

Will this work on my 2013 chevy Silverado

trying to do this to my 2004 ram 2500 with after market headlights with separate bulbs

Well I tried this and it didn't work. But I messed up the pins on the relays and had to go to part store to get a replacement and since they didn't have the one I needed they gave me one a little different which to my amazement did the same thing as what I was trying to do. Now fog light stay on with low and high beams.

I’m sure some will say yes some will say no. These are only around 40 amps max. I don’t and haven’t had any issues to date. Hope this helps

My fog lights don’t turn on, they used to turn on their own. Do you think it’s a bad wire? I also just replaced the bulbs and they still don’t turn on.

Sean Brian this will work with all 1998 dodge ram trucks. The pin I removed will not work on 1999-2002 because the wire to shut off the fog lights when high beams are turned on is in a different location, but if you found it and removed the corresponding pin it should work. But it should work on 1994-1997 rams as well

It should. Just get a test light, find the pin that becomes energized when the high beams are activated and remove it from the relay. It should be a different pin than the one I showed.

I drive a 06 F150 XLT and only had to ground that prong. Watch video called Bambi mod.

How did you get the pin out ?

I just probed to find power to lamps then confirmed power to shut off lamps and removed the pin from the relay

Does doing this put too much stress on the lighting harness?

No. It should not add any extra load to the wiring or the switch. All it is doing is removing the power that would normally shut the fog lights off when the high beams are turned on.

I tried your fix, does not work, The correct way is to remove the relay and add a jumper wire, works Great, I suggest using a fuse-able jumper.

+gwmax11 I'm not sure how to do it on the 1999-2002. I tried it on my dads 99 and it didn't work either. This idea should work on the 99-02 but I just don't know what pin shuts the fog light off. If you can find the one that shuts them off when you hit the high beams then you are in business.

Just asked how to make it work on a FB group, someone sent me a pic, looks like they just hooked a jumper cable, spade connectors on each end and go to both biggest bottom terminal slots (87 & 30), and don't worry about the top 3, essentially omit the relay, searched "ram headlight switching modifications" on google images, first pic with the yellow wire, visited the site, talks about all the headlight mods that can be done, here's the link for reference: dodgeram.org/tech/mods/electric/headlight.htm

+J Pogera yes the fog lights will still work with the low beams. Removing that pin just keeps the fog lights from being shut off when the high beams turn on.

99’s are slightly different. It uses a different pin to shut off the fog lights

Because its pretty straight forward. Three terminals going across the width of the relay and two going along the length.

Berlin Wayne Stinson I didn’t think it would. Soon as I did won’t work on a 99 either. It’s either 98 only or 98 down. The concept should work on newer dodges unless the canbus doesn’t like it
