Excellent video! This type of thing is super helpful for those of us that are learning these riding skills as adults!

Great! Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated.
Like I implied in the video, building confidence is SO important particularly if you are getting into mountain biking as an adult. Anneke really helped me build my confidence. If you want to get better on the bike, find a friend to hit you with some positivity and helpful feedback. Thanks, Anneke!

Re-watching since we are actually coming down for the weekend and signed up for the Sat clinic!!!! Son and I are bringing our e-bikes so we can get as much repetition as possible! Weather is looking perfect!
Anneke is a great coach, really breaks through. Will be getting a group lesson when I bring the crew.

Thank you!!
I did a jump instructional with Anneke last month and my jumping improved ten fold over the course of the two hour session!! I'd highly recommend her for a lesson to improve whatever technique you feel is lacking

Thanks Garrick! I hope you are doing well!
Wanted to say I've taken a few jump classes and not once have I seen cones used like that for the load zones. It's genius. I was using that same line when practicing a little last time I was up in Bentonville. It's great for it. Didn't know you were coaching at the time! I'm in Austin TX which is only an hour out from Spider Mountain, so hopefully can use what I've learned then and now and go put it to use on their lines.

Thank you! The cones help with roughly knowing when to pre-load and works great! Hopefully I will see you out here on the trails soon!

For sure. I have a few things that I'd love to work on that you have good expertise at, like downhill cornering, especially in chunky or loose conditions (TX limestone for ya) and tech on trails, like dragon scales. Gotta push through the 'ride the brakes the whole way through' phase. Maybe toss in a jump or two. Anyway, I'll reach out on your site when things can happen.
Build confidence. Trust the process (I'm almost afraid it will work too well!) That sums it up from where I am. Thanks for the coaching tips!

100%! One of the hardest things for me is letting go and trusting the process. In my time with Anneke, she pointed out a few times that trusting the process (e.g., going faster) is actually safer. I have to remind myself as I continue to learn.

thanks for this style of video -- I can relate to the woman (crunching up into my scared turtle shell instead of being tall)

I have to hire that coach.
Nice video, about where I am at. One question: how do you preload with a hardtail and no dropper post?
Great video. Wearing some pads might help riders feel a bit less scared when learning.
Anneke I need you to tow me at the Drop the Hammer🙈

So awesome! Both progressed big time! After watching your last one on jumping I've made a tiny bit of progress and was on a road trip to Iowa last weekend where I finally got to ride Mt Trashmore which is a downhill flow. First 2 runs I just rolled everything but then subsequent runs started letting off the brakes more and more and actually cleared a few of the smaller tables. Still casing a lot since I grew up racing BMX and can't seem to completely stop absorbing the bike. One of my runs down Mt Trashmore from last Fri: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fJZ_sNB6p5PRkdI.html

@@annekebeerten Hopefully one of these trips to NWA I'll get some coaching! I'm not looking for big air at 55, just safe/smooth proper clears.
