    I'd like to point out that's extremely useful video from Anton!

    Excellent !! Explains well why jumps in kiting are rather lifts and the real jumping, even though way less high, is happening in windsurfing only. I moved over from ws 6-7 years ago, but I still miss that bit 🙂

    Yea, it's bit complicated topic. The easiest way is to use that "trough" before the kicker. I mean, calculating the first push with the board, so it would end right before the trough and the board would go airborne by itself. But if you want to do it on any wave terrain, you should definitely practice on flat water. I will definitely have a closer look on that in one of the next episodes. But just try it. It's all about experimenting. This "bounce" feels like 50% pushing off from the water, 50% bending knees to lift the board a bit. It's not a pure pop, because kite is extremely low, it makes it harder to lift off from water. Most important is to look back on the trail and see no downwind shift during the bounce. It should look like a gap on the constant course line. I mean your trace on the water)

    Thank you Anton for all these great explanations: I better understand some of my common mistakes as slowing down at each little wave moving kite to 12 or jumping them too late🥴! I will try your technic asap😊. You recommand side wind spots but on mine the wind is mostly on shore so little jumps and high jumps are more difficult and risky. Any recommandation for these conditions?😎

  • @antonchernyshov8759

    @antonchernyshov8759

    4 жыл бұрын

    Well, any wind direction will do, actually. You don't even need a proper wave for this. It can be some big chop as well. It's all about understanding how these small waves/pieces of chop work. You should really feel them as "bumps" STOPPING your board and you should use these "hits" to send your kite to 12, which is crucial. This last short yank perfectly synchronized with small wave is the secret) If your waves are completely parallel with your course, may be looking for random pieces of chop will work better....I used these techniques even on my local river, which is a chaotic choppy mess))))

    You can still go up on the wave on its face diagonal, not necessarily crossing it you will end up jumping away downwind from it. Probably you will not go as high but still fun, better than nothing
