Today, we show you how to make Jeju Island's Famous Meat Noodles. It's called Gogi Guksu in Korean (제주 고기국수). I had it for the first time when I went to Jeju Island to get my scuba license. I still remember the taste of these noodles and how it hit the spot! We had it 3 days in a row for lunch. I've learned how to make it at home using 사골육수 packets - or beef bone packets. I think it may possibly be better than ramen... ;-)

Shopping Note: If you go to the Korean Market and only find Sagol Yuksu Broth Packets that are available in 350g packets (as opposed to the 500g packets show in the video)... buy 3 of them >> Use 3 Packets of Beef Bone Broth + 1.5 Packets of Water.
The Korean beef base is outstanding! I use it all the time. What I like about it most is there are no artificial components used in it.
I can't wait to make this! Much love to you Daniel. Thanks for enriching our lives with your recipes!
I’ve passed this package so many times in the market. Now I’m going to fill my cart/pantry. Thank you for teaching us the art of soup. Stay warm my friends 🏡
I remember having this the first time I went to Jeju. It was a cold, windy, January morning, and having this made it one of the most beautiful breakfasts I had in my life.
Dipping the pepper in the chilli paste is a power move lol. Love it

I looked the thin wheat ramens I bought some time ago. It is sold as Japanese style noodles but the label is Korean 😉 I can't find pork here, but I'll try it with veal. Thank you for recipe!

@@ownlywon I live in Turkey, which is not available due to the majority of Muslims. That's why it is found in the metro markets I mentioned, especially in big cities where people from other nationalities live.

Is this "Spicey Hot"?? (I can do a "little" wasabi but I have a very hard time with any types of peppers. (sigh) Thanx for answering, Love your channel and share a LOT of the things that you both share. God Bless you. ;)

You can just add less of the pepper sauce at the end if you don’t like spicy. Korean chili flakes look very red, but they are actually not as spicy as they look!
You know what? I'm a baby when it comes to spicy stuff lol.
The chopstick and spoon set that you are using. Is it the same ones on sale at Gochujar?
New subscriber, friend showed me this channel.
Gosh making me hungry xD but I don't have the ingredients :((((

Hello neighbor👋
Can we talk about how they just eat jalapeños dipped in spicy sauce as a side
What’s the serving size for this?
🐖 ✨🌟✨ 🐖 🍜 ❤️ = 😊
Eating this in a restaurant in which Korean owners are fighting actually sounds perfect.
AS IN CHEDJU-DO?

i cant tell if this is a joke or not, but no unless your refering to jeju-do island then yes
Steer clear of Jeju Island unless you are a S rank hunter :)

Can it deal with beef😀?!

there are variations of this dish that can use either chicken or beef if wanted, they are its own dish and called something else. you should look up yuk gae jang and kalguksu. they are similar to this dish. all freaking delicious. for the beef you can do the same thing they did, but shred the beef into pieces rather than cut, then mix the chili paste they made with the beef shreds then top your noodle dish with this like they did with the pork

I only got 2, the one at the beginning and the one at the end. Honestly, I don't mind waiting 10 seconds if it means they get paid fairly for their videos, their recipes are awesome.
I see a lot of cooks complain about "pork taste" or something being too "porky". I'm sorry, but if you don't want pork flavor, then why are you eating pork? The porkiness is the best part! Imagine eating beef that didn't taste beefy! What's the point? Anyways, good recipe.

@@lazaronen1786 Me neither, until I was inspired by this comment to google the reason behind this pork taste that many people I know complain about.
Could not eat that fatty meat. Take off the fat after cooking. I sure the meat is good not the fat.
@ownlywon

this is her opinion, but for anyone who actually makes this absolutely do not listen to this woman. she doesnt know what shes talking about and has obviously never had pork belly or anything to its equvalent. when you boil the pork for that long most of that fat is rendered into the broth where most stays in the first pot and you get a nice texture contrast of the different layers of meat. if you want to take the fat off go ahead but i will tell you right now it wont be the same
