Turnitin is broken. I can do my work without copying or cheating and still get a high turnitin score. Absolute garbage.

This video is very informative .thank you it gave some much needed clarity on how it works.

word and phrases don't belong to anybody creating phrases does not indicate plagiarism the academic system supress the critical thinking and promote the referencing with is chewing again and again an authors work. Is sad

On one side I realize that it is important to check for plagiarism and at the same time it feels like my biggest enemy

I don't really understand how this works, I literally did an assignment with my own words and got 16% plag? I guess this means that you can't really do it in your own words because everything you write came from someone else, whether it be from your teacher or a book you read, everything you learn is from someone else, so how do they expect us to write something original. is it even possible to get 0% plagiarism???

Yes, it is possible to get 0% plagiarism. When I was in high school, I got 0% plagiarism on 1 essay in 10th grade. My 10th-grade teacher would only allow 0% for that essay.

what does it mean by 'frag' when it comes to in-text referencing but it only highlights in purple some of them but not all when they are wrote in the same way, confused..

but what is the meaning of the different highlight colours, purple, green, blue, all those...do they signify something?

I got 62% but 37 of that 62 is from the school that I’m in.

I went on Turnitin earlier on to check my grade for an assignment and it said “your work is currently under review due to a high turnitin originality match and you will be contacted in due course.” I am so worried. Before I submitted my work I checked it on generator and it just said 10% similarity. Has this happened to anyone else?

yes its happened to me. It was just an error on the system and everything was fine, mine said 6% and then it gave me the same message. If you haven't been plagiarising you don't have to worry

what happened?

I upload assignment on 28 febrauary it show only 7 percent similarity but after 3 days it shows 39 percent similarity why this happen pls suggest anyone who knows better

cause even if you want to fix it doesn't allow resubmitions so I don't understand why you said how to fix it. Are you saying that I can fix it the next time that I am doing an assignment or like with the current work submitted

Mam actually I took data from site. But before Submitting to turtine i gave citation unfortunately it was still showing 20 percent similarities. Just tell me if I cited data is it plagiarism? Or not?

citing a work will not automatically remove plagiarism. As long as there are more than three consecutive words cited, any plagiarism checker especially Turnitin will indicate it as plagiriszed.

How can I get onto turnitin?

What about referencing being included in the similarity percentage? What can be done about that? Or is that suppose to be included?
