A big thing with shy kiddos that I've often seen is that the parents often save their kids from answering far too much. No dissing on the parents, it's hard to see your kid uncomfortable, but they need to allow their child a chance to answer or they end up relying on parents to answer and be their voice

She is just precious! I have a shy 5 year old but as soon as she thinks you’re cool she’s a chatterbox! Lol

People can have issues socialising or presenting their emotions or speak up, extraordinarily depends how they were raised & their knowledge. Agreed it can all start with the parents and how they are with the kids at home usually a lot of yelling and getting in the kids face causes a lot of anxiety and shyness ik it did for me im an adult and i still struggle a lot with being shy and anxiety

@@midnight_x_edits based on their behaviour in the video I think it s the opposite, the kid seems over-protected. Yes, she might not be the most outgoing human being overall, but she answered and interacted as you would expect. The mother, on the other hand, seemed the one who was feeling the need to protect the child: always on her lap, talking for her, pleasing her for everything (like the purse: "it can stay here", smile and be excited for the toys don t give up as she ask for the purse)

I felt this comment deep in my soul. I’m super shy and always has been. It’s not good. It’s actually prevented me from networking and going after great opportunities. I’m still single and unmarried and much too shy to date despite having a lot of interest from people. Sigh. People don’t talk about it but being shy is terrible. You can never really make the most out of life. I wish I was more outgoing

@@cosmicreef5858 I have been shy my whole life (I'm 38) and it can be a hold back, but I also wouldn't want to be any other way. I despise loud, obnoxious people who always have to be the center of attention. Much prefer quiet people. Being shy is also not equivalent to being anxious, those are two completely seperate things.

It's such a breath of fresh air to see a REAL doctor on KZread and not some chiropractors pretending to be medical doctors.

I remember seeing this channel over a decade ago and then remembering it years later. Out of fluke, I found the channel again and resubscribed on the day Dr. Paul retired, as usual I hope all is well

People who are blaming the mom - She understands that the Dr ain't got all day to treat a single patient. She can practice training her child to be an extrovert at home instead of making the Dr wait 2 min for every single answer, if he asked the girl directly.

Dr. Paul you remind me so much of Dr. Michelle who looked after both my Mom and I and my sister when we were small, he also decided to keep my mom on as an Adult patient and saw me right after I was born, thank you for all the work you have done, and I'm sure going to miss watching your videos.

i would also maybe be anxious and overprotective when being filmed and put online to watch over 100k times. Seems only in US this can be ethical. The kid doesnt seem shy btw. Acting as a quite usual kid, looking in the eye, answering questions, being excited…and that all while filmed.
