Love the videos. Just started converting my vivaro a bit at a time. Have slept in it for work over the years across the front seats. Put a slide out bed in the back a couple of weeks ago along with a case of beer and we headed off to Dorset for 3 nights. Best break we have ever had. I will try to watch some more tonight as I need to get a floor in and insulation.

That floor looked in very good nick. My Sprinter has that polystyrene in the ceiling - came like that - there is a ply layer with a thick velour over it, apart from where the roof vent used to be - there is a metal plate riveted & sikkaflexed to the van roof - too hot to touch on a sunny day, but the ceiling never gets very warm, so it obviously makes a huge difference - should keep your floor much warmer. I wonder if those deeper channels are for that tracking? Mine has that in - think someone called it Unwins track - was used to fasten the stretchers and seats in when it was an Ambulance.

We've been looking at buying ours as we're doing it soon, all the R values and lamda values seem similar but the prices are all over the place. Also, where did you buy it? But worth a note that the insulating qualities for this type of foam is quite low. However, i hear that the floor is the least important surface for insulating so you can get away with it a bit more. Is that right?

@@adamvincent-garland7699 At the end of the day, how much insulation you need largely depends on where you are planning to drive your van. If you're going to Scandinavia, the Alps or Canada in the winter, you need a well-insulated floor. Too. =)

I remember in my 20's being nagged at work for bending over my work outside with my T-shirt riding up my back. (I ignored them 'cause I knew best!) - UNTIL my back locked one evening at home. My missus was in fits of laughter - she thought I was joking :-( Had trouble with the old back ever since ..... If you've escaped the dreaded 'bad back' so far Mel, don't go getting a chill in yours, or you won't be doing any of these video's for a long time to come .... OOPS! :-)

Hi nelly got a quick question if you don’t mind iv bought a Chinese heater. And I can’t find your video for the life of me. I don’t want to put a hole in the bottom of the tank that come with the heater because it may start leaking at a later date and it’s a week point. You bought one off of eBay (a tap that goes on top of the tank any chance you can send me a Ebay item number I’m a bit old school and not very good on phones. Can you PM me the reply because I don’t no if I will ever find this message again. I won’t put a hole in the bottom of the tank if the pre fitted them I wouldn’t of minded Looking forward to your reply Mell (Dave). one of your FANS

Mel’s Van World Found them cheers mell iv had a brain wave think I’m going to put a proper motorcycle tap on it because I can have to lines in the tank that way I can put one pipe about a inch off of the bottom of the tank and one 6inchs up from the bottom so I can put the fule on and if I run out in the middle of the Knight I no i can put it on to reserve so I no iv got plenty left to keep me worm for a day or to as I can switch to the longer pipe just by twisting to reserve 👍
