Does tapping on the box help to calm the bees? Thank you for the information, and newbies Do Not tap the boxes... be gentle.

Once you get all 5 frames out and queen in the box I set in front of the hive they will migrate over themselves and there pace

Bees aren’t that sensitive, they can handle some tapping... one of Earths most essential and most successful organisms... not resistant to man-made pesticide ... but tapping is fine

I too tap the box to get all the bees in a puddle I can then easily dump into the hive. It does not bother them much.

Thanks for the video, It's nice to watch someone who knows what they are doing and is able to explain. (I'm not hating but as A first-time beekeeper I tend to come across a lot of videos made by other first-timers) Subscribed. TIL; honey frames go on the outside when installing NUCS + Consider black frames. I didn't want to use plastic so I might just spray paint a couple of my wooden ones to try and resolve. Happy Thanksgiving.

I have seen videos like this... what is unclear for me waiting for my 6 nucks to arive in a week is how to install them in my box with foudationless frames? This will be my first year (i dont have drawn frames) so i belive the order of frames should be one frame from the nuck one epmty etc? If i let them with 3 empty frames next to each other they will drow randomly and i will make a mess? I need advice! Thanks

Can you transfer them into a 5 frame nuc. Then add another nuc on top with 5 new frames. Do you have to use a 10 frame hive to transfer them in? I have seen a ton of videos saying the expand faster in 5 frame hives and have less stress.

I do a lot of 4 over 4 over 4 hives and they do build up much faster. Especially in the cold spring since heat rises the bees seem to keep working when its cold.
