literally the easiest method, i wasted hrs trying to recover the right log credentials and trying to set up bitnami and virtual box and all. This is so much cleaner, easier and simple. So glad i found this

I am using Mac iPad Pro.. when the download is complete and I press on it.. it just shows a bland screen saying i have download.. .. how do i get to the other stages … is it different using a iPad Pro. ? So after i have downloaded ,.. Rob bot does the rest of the work.? As all as I am seeing is your your commands. I am not getting to the final stages.

Thanks very much. Works very well. BUT be sure to disable some plugin's before backing up an online copy for local use. Hostgator's plugin which is automatically installed and ACTIVATED on new sites really screws up your local WP install!!! 😫

Go to Local and click the + in a circle and then add another site! Yes, it looks like a new install of WP. I think this is the way WP works.

Hi Jon, seems like this might be to do with your Anti Virus. You could try adding Local to the list of trusted applications within your Anti Virus and see if that works. You can read more here: community.localwp.com/t/local-ran-into-eperm-error/6602

Thanks for the video. I'm here in Feb 2024. The Local app has been updated, and I've had trouble setting it up. You might have to downgrade the PHP version that Local uses to version 7.4 and add the site again.

@@adaezekalu4738 Yes. I have the username and password saved in browser and before pressing WP Admin button I just turned on “One-click admin” on Local main page. Hope this works for you also.

please can someone help me. The wordpress is not logging me in to the admin. It just refreshes. It's not sending me reset password to my email either. But if I input wrong password or username, it highlights.

Hi Miguel, no, your local and live website will work as expected and one will not be destroyed. Simply, you would need to migrate the files from your local to live environment. If you want to learn how to move your website from Local to your online host, we have a tutorial for that too: kzread.info/dash/bejne/YpN8x65mlq6-mNI.html Do get in touch with your hosting provider, they usually help in the import process.

You lost me at 1:41… I have none of the options in your menu. You fast forwarded to Local already being installed. Then you get a popup for “local-6.2.1-windows.exe”. It’s already installed??? Once I got past that part, it went okay. The first install of Local didn’t work. I had to turn off my antivirus, and then it did install correctly. Once installed, the sample page loads, but I cannot log into the WP Admin. I’ve re-installed twice, triple checked user/pass, and I cannot log in. Anyone have any advice? Also, it looks like Local needs Internet connectivity. Why is this, when it’s running local? Do you need WordPress installed first? Is WordPress installed during the Local install? WordPress download has no exe file, so I don’t understand how to install it… Sorry, but a newbie to WordPress here.

Do you know why when I try to login, after entering in my details. The page just reloads? It won't let me login even though my credentials are correct.

I have spent many hours trying to get this to work and it keeps failing once the site has been created. I have given up now, WordPress is not worth wasting any more time on. The video was good though!
