I installed the Qwik Chute (quick chute) OCDC Operator Controlled Discharge Chute on my 2019 SCAG Tiger Cat 2 zero turn mower. This installation was simple and fast. You have to drill 4 small 1/" holes through the steel mowing deck using a black oxide drill bit. The kit comes with everything you need for a complete install. This QwikChute is MADE IN THE USA!

One of the only videos I could find on this after a couple hours of watching videos geared towards these chute closers. Great video!
Well you did a great job on this chute blocker install and overview. Thanks!!! I just got mine today and am really looking forward to using it
Great video, I was debating between Qwikchute and Advanced Chute blocker. After watching your video I ordered the Qwikchute. Thanks!!
Nice review. Nice mower. Nice attachment.
Outstanding tutorial. I've been deliberating on which chute blocker to buy. This video has made up my mind. Much appreciated.
Good vid !!! I’m fixing to buy a 2021 tiger cat 2 and was looking for a grass flap . You convinced me to buy a quick chute . Easy install , simple design . Thanks for sharing .

It’s a beautiful machine and an even more perfect chute. I still adore this mower and the chute to this day. Never an issue.
I have this on 1 of my mowers I liked it I just bought me another one for my other mower but I do want to say this wasn't talked about in this video you can make it open halfway I like that but if if in the market for something like this well you just found one of the best one I have tried
That is very nice easy to work with.
Very good video! Thanks!
Nice job!
Couple things You should have painted the holes to help in delaying the inevitable rust The bolts I probably would have put in from the bottom up I’d imagine that much bolt hanging through the bottom would impede the ejection of the grass especially in deep grass???? Just thinking out loud

Thought the exact thing while watching.
Put some foam pad strips on the deck, so it quiets the slam nose when you choose the chute.
Your a miracle
Excellent video. I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on the chute 4 years later.
Ordered one and they gave us too many parts and the part that the handle gets attached to only had one hole, not three. After much frustration we found your video which cleared everything up and confirmed we had too many parts. Sending it back tomorrow for a replacement!
I would flip your bolts around the other way. That way it will not catch so much grass under the deck. I have a Grass Flap and put the bolt heads on the under side of the deck.

Not a bad idea. I did check after my most recent mow and I didn’t have any that caught but I’m sure when we get into rainy season that will change. Good tip.
Brother, you don’t use the hammer setting on your drill for steel. Only concrete.

Ah. I know man... my friggin drill is jammed on hammer mode. Holes came out ok tho but trust... I know what you’re saying.
the model you linked is for the velocity deck, is there any reason it won't fit the 52in?
I'm so jealous (,looks like it'll work),I attempted to make one it crumbled up(too light duty
Hello nice video! What blades are you using with quickchute ?
But if you are mulching do you even need this? The baffles encloses everything already. Or am I missing something?
I just got mine and it won’t go down how to fix that pls help
Is there any way to lessen the force required to open and close the chute? You really have to push/pull the handle to open and close the chute. It’s fine for a man, however my wife has a very hard time with it.
Is the plate itself metal or plastic? Wondering if would hold up to walnuts? I made a blocker out of thin sheet metal but I have a couple walnut trees and in the fall of the year the walnuts has beating the heck out of it. Looks like you hit it with a ball pin hammer.

It’s neither. Think more along the lines of a steel belted radial tire but harder in compound. It would handle walnuts like a champ.
I just purchased one of these for my scag cheetah. I demo'd a mower with this chute blocker on it a while back, and i really liked it! I especially like the fact you can partially open the chute. I didnt see you do that in the video with yous? Does it not partially open it? Mike

does yours partially open?

The partly open feature blows a lot of dust onto the operator. That is the only thing I don’t like about the product

That sucks. I wish it can be partially opened and serves as a deflector for discharge…

@@TT-dz8zf it CAN be partially opened! i have one on one of my scag cheetahs. and my other cheetah 2 has a grass flap.
I am interested in this chute cover to see how it works compared to my Scag brand OC/DC. Installation of the Scag kit took 2.5 hours and I have a full shop and tools. That self aligning was easy! Installation was easy and quick! How has it held up? How is it foe mulching? The Scag brand unit was more expensive, but works easily and flawlessly. The problem is that it cannot easily be transferred to a different model mower. I want to move up from Tiger Cat II to a Cheetah or Turf Tiger. I have 99 hours on mine so it is practically worn out! Actually I underbought and the dealer undersold. I need a bigger deck and more hp.
Does it make your mower dirty? Or do you get alot of dust when it's closed? Thanks, you did a great job on it!!!

Yes and yes. I got rid of this tiger cat because of the dust it created. Couldn’t stand it.
How well would this work with bafflers and mulch blades do you think?
@Archifx

Good question. Probably pretty good. It’s a monster and very beefy.
I have same mower. Is there any way to open the shoot partly? Is it all or nothing?
@Archifx

All it nothing but I’m sure you could rig it up to stay half open.
@dustinscott9879

It opens a quarter also
How do you control the increased ‘blowout’ with the chute closed?
@Archifx
Жыл бұрын
I couldn’t. I ended up ditching this mower because of the excessive dust it created. Completely bad choice of a mower unless you are in thick lush grass. Any dirt / leaves, etc. mixed in it’s nasty dusty.
Will it fit in the scag patriot?

Check with them to make sure the part numbers are the same. This is for the velocity deck.
Nice, but it pains me to see anyone have to drill holes into their mower's deck.

Oh I know brother. I hated like hell doing it too but it’s worth it.

@@Archifx This was my first thought too. Did you do anything afterwards to prevent rust? How's it doing now that we're decently into the season?
@Archifx
3 жыл бұрын
Doing perfectly. Zero rust.
@Archifx
3 жыл бұрын
I will say. I hated drilling into that Velocity deck as well but. If you wanted to... could always add a bit of enamel paint to the exposed hole metal and add some grease as a security blanket. I’ll probably end up pulling the bolts after this season and inspecting for rust and treat accordingly. That is the one caveat of this system but, the benefits definitely outweigh the disadvantages
Great video man. How’s it holding up so far?
@Archifx

It’s a beast. Working great.
Do you mind if I share your video on Instagram?
How in the world is that worth $300.00? Now I know why people just make their own, can't be hard. All it's doing is blocking grass from blowing in flower beds, sidewalks, cars, porches and driveways.

If you use it you’ll see why. It also has to be strong enough to take a beating, fast to operate and durable enough not to break when you want to use it fast. Also needs to be strong enough to hit a rock or a large stick and not allow the chute to let it thru.
sad 350 for plastic its junk
