How to install shade cloth for your greenhouse!

In today's video I'll be showing you "How to Install Shade Cloth for you Greenhouse". My supportive husband agreed to let me film him doing some of the installation. You'll also get to hear him give his tips and tricks on how he installed our shade cloth. When you garden in my zone 6b, you can expect very hot summers. Shade cloth provides the protection my plants and I need against my greenhouse getting scorchingly hot. It was a fairly easily installation that most DIYers can do on their own. Great info on shade cloth! We purchased the same shade cloth last year but used cheap bungee cords to hold it down in the sides.. as you can imagine they rotted and broke halfway thru the season!! This year we bought better bungees and will see if those stay,, if not I for sure will use the paracord!! Thanks!

Did you drill through the plexiglass to insert the ring screws at the top?

Thanks for your question. We only had to drill through the poly in 4 spots...otherwise everywhere else we screwed into wood. Hope this helps?
I have a dome greenhouse and when the sun hits it it gets 120 degrees most of the day. I ordered 40% shade cloth and I'm not sure its going to lower the heat enough. You are using 70% so I guess I made a mistake. :(

Choosing what % is a bit of a challenge. I asked around some folks in my zone/area. I also considered that I want to grow things inside so I didn’t want it to block too much sunlight. So far so good. We placed it on in April and will remove it probably late September. It’s all about experimenting and finding what’s going to work for your space.
