If you have a fat PS3 this isn't the video you want, opt for a real CFW like Rebug or Evilnat, not a userland homebrew enabler like HEN

how did you update ps3 hen 4.90 to hen 4.91? do you need to get the official psn 4.91 update first or the HFW 4.91 update and then just update like that??

@@RepulsifyYT Absolutely not. My ps3 slim had the hen 4.90 installed , so i downloaded the non official 4.91 from psx-place website and followed this tutorial. Formatted an old 16gb pendrive to fat32 (windows11) ,copied the non official 4.91 firmware and installed the new firmware via the xmb menu , restarted the ps3 slim , at this point all your games and saves should stay intact. Then i reinstalled the same firmware(non official 4.91 ) using the safe mode method utilising an official ps3 controller ( even if it has drift) ,this way you can avoid problems like corrupt data / saves and games that forced me to reformat a 1tb full of games and saves . So please use an official ps3 controller connected via usb cable to the ps3 , when the safe mode install is done ,then you can switch to an unofficial controller if you like. After the previous steps , you have to activate your psn account and then install hen using the ps3 browser method as instructed in this tutorial. Then i uninstalled those apps: webman,multiman,irisman and managunz and reinstalled newer versions (if available on wololo.net) . That's it.

just setup a 3xxx slim thanks for streamlining the explanation but also being very thorough in your descriptions. sometimes when you try and use a usb drive for the firmware update, you might notice it doesn't show up correctly. i noticed even when using a sdcard in a sd reader, those icons he cleared still showed up in that situation too after rufus, but i had a usb stick where it would run through the rufus initial step and no errors, but even after copying the firmware files over correctly to /PS3/UPDATE/ the firmware update didn't show up for me to choose in the ps3, so realize some usb media might not work properly and if this is the case always remember sd/micro-sd readers are a possibly option as it saved me from having to by something just for the setup when now it will all be done over the network, thanks again modded warfare good looking out man. also i recommend if you revise this to offer webman setup as well because i have a NAS for example and it will be incredibly easier to have this setup to grab directly from the NAS so thats up next to figure out. Also i have the encryption keys for the redump iso sets so i want to see how you can apparently just leave them in a specific folder and just use the encrypted isos instead of running through all 1400+ games to decrypt them. but if i have to do that i will :)

Thank you! I was thinking how I can upgrade my ps3 harddrive and I just trust your tutorials the most. Is there any upcoming videos about the PS4? I am really considering buying one recently but all the firmwares I am finding are the 11 point something versions which is honestly upsetting. FM 9.00 is nearly impossible to find in my markets as well I struggle to buy anything online due to regulations in my current location. Should I just buy a ps4 or just wait for one that is version 9.00 or below I can update myself (highly unlikely to find)

They have recently launched a revival server for it. You can now play PS home with some limitations still, as it is still a work in progress

Quite literally whatever I do my ps3 just refuses to be jailbroken, the system update doesn't work with wither method, I have pressed auto install hen like 20 times and it never works, my ps3 just doesn't want to be fucking jailbroken, help me please

The USB device needs to be formatted in FAT32, and for a drive as big as his, Windows will not allow it by default. Hence the "large FAT32" option. Hope I helped.

I had the same problem. Just update in safe mode, it worked for me

EvilNat used to work for me, was on 4.88 ever since i owned the Slim model, I had to upgrade My storage so went to 4.91 and EvilNat wouldn't work anymore for me so had to switch to HEN

one issue i have, since i've tried this for a few days ago, what if my controller does not open the keyboard by pushing start? i used both a TTX ps3 controller (works on pc) and a ps3 controller without "sixaxis" (that one died on me); every time i test it by poking start (literally mashing the button) and nothing pops up

Idk why I’m watching this I’ve had my ps3 jailbroken since the 3.41/3.55 days. But I guess I just like watching modded warfare vids. I refuse to stop using rebug so I’m currently on 4.86 rebug and I spoof fw to latest.

Please help. I followed everything exactly the same and I get HEN Failure! Restart PS3 and retry! checkMemory: 000000008fd8 Repeated the same process hundreds of times to no avail.
