HOW TO INSTALL PEEL AND STICK TILES IN GUEST BATHROOM for beginners Tips Tricks Step by Step Part 4

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Par of our Guest Bathroom Makeover PART 4
Easy to follow for beginners, instruction oh how to install peel and stick tiles. I used Carrara Marble by Traffic Master from Home Depot. This is the second room I did, the first was our Laundry room. Link Below.
Since our install we had a flood in the bathroom and the peel and stick tiles are waterproof and still look great in the bathroom.
Tip: Get all the tiles you need all at once to make sure you have the same lot.
We are not sponsored just sharing what we used and like.
Until next time....Hope to see you in my next video!
Thank you much for watching and to all my subscribers, it means so much to me. And hope this was helpful!

    Actually, yes, I did have to remove the old flooring. It was curling, peeling, and breaking off in places. And stinky, especially around the toilet. Men, you know, sometimes miss the toilet, lol! BUT In our laundry room, I did leave the old flooring on and placed new tiles over it. It was in much better shape, so in that instance, it was fine to leave it the old floor on. I have that video as well.

  • @nobodystalkin1

    @nobodystalkin1

    You absolutely want to remove the old floor, especially if it’s ceramic. If you don’t, you will have indentations over time, unless you want to put down a liquid vinyl substrate such as floor leveler. I’d take this one step further and pull the toilet, this eliminates having to replace a few pieces should the toilet be replaced at a later time. Unless you are in a newer house, now is a good time to put new parts in the toilet as well to insure trouble free operation for years to come.

    Yes. We had a flood later on from a leaky toilet that needed replacing. And we had proffesionals come in to replace our entire family room flooring, which was not these tiles but different flooring. BUT THE TILES in the bathroom that I used did not need replacing. So there was no water damage or in between the tiles. So far so good.

So far we have not had any problems with the tiles coming loose and its been quite a while since we installed them even with the flooding we had. But I suppose if the area you have it constantly damp/wet maybe that might be an issue IDK. I can only say what our experience is in our guest bath and laundry room. I want to do this in my bathrm, but I live in an older home, and the toilet pipe goes thru the floor, not the wall, and cutting around that is an impossible fate to do, as well as the old radiator, coil style in my bathroom as well, that need cutting around. Thus, I will have to hire a contractor do it properly for me, which will result in no savings on my part. I wish my tiny bathroom was that easy, but nothing in this house has been easy. I guess I could paint the vinyl tile that is already on the floor Rustoleum, but I don't know. Ms. B. Churchill

    We could not figure out why the home was musty smelling even after repairing drywall and repainting. Come to find out that my tenants a few years back installed peel and stick tiles over concrete floors without my permission Then reinstalled the carpet when they left (I imagine because of the dog). Two years later after another tenant left, I found them after removing the carpet to replace it. MOLD and red algae was growing under each and every tile because they trapped the moisture in and the tiles were just loose enough to stick but not lock out the mold.

    Starting from the middle allows you to work outward in all directions, which can help to distribute cut tiles more evenly across the edges of the area. This minimizes the visibility of any irregular or smaller cut tiles at the perimeter, providing a more polished and professional-looking finish. BUT starting from the middle may NOT always be necessary for every project, that why I test the placement first with several different placement layouts and what visually looks the best to me is what I go with in the end.

    More like 30 to 45 min. BUT you don't need to. And yes, it's better to remove the toilet. But this shows you can install tiles without removing the toilet for people who just aren't able to do it for various reasons. We ended up having a major toilet leak a few months later and had to install a new toilet that had a wider bottom and didn't need to remove the tiles. At any rate, I might change the tiles to actual marble tile in the future, at which I will remove the toilet for sure. Thanks for your comment.

    We had a flood much later on and ended up changing to a new toilet. So far the tiles are perfect, even after the flooding. The tiles have heavy adhesive on them anyway so it is not necesary to rollout more adhesive I intalled them to manufacturer installation instructions. Thanks for the comment.

    Sorry you should never lay those tiles side by side. Best to start in the middle and stairs step each row. 4 corners means trouble.
