Feeding the wires through the driver’s side of the car is a really bad idea. Having the power socket on the right side of the unit encourages this, but that is a major design fault when used in right hand drive cars. Loose wires running through the driver’s footwell, under a mat, is frighteningly dangerous. If you have to feed the wires through the driver’s footwell, please securely fasten them with cable ties/etc out of the way of the pedals.

Hi, thanks for your comment and for making a very good point. Thankfully Ive had no issues as I have very carefully hid the wires well away from the pedals so there is no way for them to come in contact with the pedals/my feet when driving. For anyone reading this, as mentioned in the video it is extremely important to not have any loose wiring near the pedals that could pose a risk when driving. Securely fastening loose wiring with cable ties is a great idea!

Hey I'm thinking of getting this but I don't want to hard wire it for parking mode so can I plug in a power bank for overnight security?? ❤

I’ve got a stupid Zafira and cigar lighter under the handbrake, typical Vauxhall, I had to go for a hardwire installation instead

You install the wire first and then you connect to Dash Cam. Never put under your mat because of cleaning later. Try putting wires around dashboard only if you can.

Does the Car Power Cable has a usb slot or do I have to buy a dual converter? I have a black box in my cigarette lighter socket.

How do I get the rear camera to work? The only screen I see is the front and when I download the sd card all it shows is the front view. I can't figure out how to get a rear camera screen. I have watched every video I can find and nobody explains it. I'm really frustrated because I can't figure out how to get the rear camera to work.

Hi Kelly, try pushing the rear camera into place so it’s not loosely fitted but more firmly fitted into the front camera slot that it should sit in if this makes sense (there should be no gap between the two cameras). Also make sure you’re fitting it correctly so the front faces the front and the rear faces us. This should fix it! Hope this helps!

Same here, I'm not seeing rearview footage either & every YT video doesn't really show you, even the nextbase site hasn't got any info.

Just bought one of these & I'm not seeing any rearview camera footage? how did you access your rearview footage?

Hi there, have you pushed the rear view camera into the main camera slot properly so it has clicked into place firmly? This should fix it!

@@diyfab Hi Thanks for the reply. Yes It's pushed in as far as it will go, I can see the forward looking camera files but no rearview camera files. I've tried the nextbase site but there doesn't seem to be any answer to it!!!!

‘Hard wired’ means not plugged in ie. wired to fuse box 😊
