Thank you so much for your videos! I live in Norway and have just purchased a 1998 1850SE with a 3.0 Mercruiser, and can't wait for the summer holiday to end so I can start my renovation of the boat and the rebuild of the engine. I've got so much inspiration from your vlog, you have a very good way of explaining things.

Hey man you do a good job don’t let anybody get you down and it don’t seem like you do. Helluva job I think restoring that boat so many people would have gave up when water was coming out instead of oil I have one that I’m about to try and restore that kind of in the same condition so I would like to stay in touch. Thanks

Yu Zachs, I need to move nearby your neighborhood bro. Man, you are a cool guy, a very talented and hard-working guy. I got a 2009 Bayliner 4.3 that the outdrive did not raise up and now sound metal in the side when i run the boat. So, i am planning to take it apart and do what you did on your boat.

Zach, I did a complete engine replacement on a 18’ sea-ray this past spring. Your struggles were almost exactly like mine and if I had the extra time I would have loved to document them on KZread like you’re doing. The boat looks amazing from where you started and you should be very proud of your accomplishments. One suggestion once its done and you are finally able to enjoy using it on the water. Get a set of trim tabs. Nauticus makes a set that goes for around $100 and they make a huge difference with how the boat handles. Much easier to get up on plane and a lot less bouncing at higher speeds.

It's funny you mention that! We have actually been using the boat that I haven't shown as much in videos. But trim tabs / hydrofoil is actually on my Christmas list 🤠 couldn't agree more! Thanks for sharing!

Hey wanted to tell you thanks for the help and very impressive you got back to me so soon great channel to be of. Something that may come in handy for someone someday or save some part of their anatomy when I was trying to figure out what I was doing wrong I hooked the positive straight up to the coil causing all the spark plugs to spark obviously what I didn't expect was the motor to start up yes it started up. Without any help from the starter whatsoever I was surprised because it seems like it would've had to preserve the cons the compression along with being in just the right spot but what do I know

When trying to align the spline, it’s easier to turn the prop rather than pulling it out and turn the driveshaft.

I’m removed my drive to replace a hose now I’m trying to get it back in and I can’t get any closer than three inches. I have it in drive. I do try and turn the propeller counter clockwise but drive won’t turn unless I pull it out of housing a little. Any help is appreciated

Isolate the point of failure, or in your case the point of stopping from getting it on. Might be drive shaft splines, stud bolts, etc. Look for anything that can get in the way

Do you need to remove the outdrive or can engine be removed with it in place? Seems like if it could be brought forward while removing it would clear the shaft
