I like these life proof, they last a long time and show almost no wear after years of use. Laying the floor is easy how you tackle stairs when you run into them is hard- no jnderlayment these have their own and if you use additional underpayment you will void the lifetime warranty.

The only person that gives a shit about the pattern is the guy who lays it down. This is the same concept as every other trade that has some "special knowledge" that generally makes no difference at all in the end product. You could literally just lay LVP on the floor and its half decent flooring already. Stop pretending the Legos of flooring are some specal thing 😂

@@joeyd7728 I've done hundreds of laminate floors and that step pattern shows terribly. I make sure none of my lines line up for at least 4 rows and I randomize it throughout the whole floor. No seams closer than 6 inches either.. I also pull from at least 4 boxes at a time to avoid any color patterning.

Yes at least 24 hours but it's best to do at least 48 if you can

Sorry carnal but that floor will start cupping . You need to put 6 mil plastic underneath the floor when installing over concrete

Never used a tapping block on lifeproof just a soft rubber mallet ! Tapping blocks damages the very edge of the flooring

🤣probably not. It’s probably uneven. But if the customer paid for it. That’s on the customer for not putting an underpayment. Idc if the product has the thin part on the back that’s NOT an underlayment. The underlayment is for many purposes. Mainly for moisture protection and comfort under your feet and noise reduction. This will creek and crack sound with each step. And will probably need to be replaced again because it weakens the joints. If you get a good underlayment the floor doesn’t have to be perfectly level. Because the padding with give it a flatter surface to lay on and it’s cushioned with moisture protection. I’m not a professional by no means but I’m about to install some in my house in less than a week so I’ve been learning a ton before I even try.

Most flooring has Instructions to lay them by 3rd's or 4th's depending on the brands. Also they come with Square footage instructions about Whether or not they have dividers. As a contractor if the client Request it to be layed outside the instructions of the brand but I don't put a warranty that covers the floor if it comes undone. herringbone Is pattern is covered by warranty . As long as that you stagger the floor and they have over 6 inches of over lay the floor will hold. The Reason why you want to stagger the joint to create a better hold on the next floor piece.

I'm not a fan of this stagger, but, most people will never notice. On my first install I had no idea what I was doing and jacked the entire floor up. I can't wait to take it out.

Most New flooring doesn't need underLayment because it comes with underlayment built it. I installed 234 floors so far.

Most LVP come with it molded on the bottom of the board but you still want to use a poly clear underlayment if the subfloor is Concrete. Moisture.

Stagger them joints or the flooring will move irregularly

LVP is not consider s high end flooring, so this is ok, lightning bolt pattern. Do not try it with real wood planks, is a no no.

In you don't install it with a moister barrier (6 mil plastic) when installing over a slab foundation, the manufacture will most likely not warranty it.

It’s not for expansion. What they will do is put quarter on the base board everywhere to cover the gap. How they should have done it is taken off the baseboards and after the flooring is installed, you then reinstall the baseboards.

Only need an underlayment in a condo association just for sound absorption lifeproof makes there own underlayment. Always layed 6 mill plastic down regardless of moisture content ! Installed this per Home Depot installations guidelines. Lifeproof also makes a herringbone floor design flooring

Sometimes homeowners don't want to pay extra for removal, reinstalling and finish paint. They'd rather hide gaps with quarter round..but yes. I'd remove baseboard too if it was up to me

Well if it's done correctly it'll last quite a while but this is not done correctly so it probably won't last that long before it starts buckling in cupping
