    Watched the vid to see what locations you mounted them to. Word to the viewers though, ground connections can be localized to the light...the entire chassis/frame is a ground, so don't feel it necessary to run ground wires throughout the vehicle, just the power wires. If you want them to turn on with a switch, as well as with the doors, you'd essentially need to do a double relay system, one relay for the main switch, with a secondary relay triggered by a wire that gets ground or power once the doors open (a chime, a ground signal which turns on the interior lights, etc.). I'm going to do a more detailed video since people seem to want wiring explanations. You wouldn't want to run this direct through a switch, even though it's low amps...wouldn't be wise, unless the switch has lots of margin for amps.

    Dude, I like your rig and vids.consider turning your pillar light out at a 45 degree angle. With a light bar, bumper lights and headlights you have a ton of forward light overlap. Turning your pillar lights will give you a much wider sweep. I run duels at 45 and 90 degrees. I have a 270 degree sweep of visibility. Just my two cents! Keep the vids coming! Thanks

    Zip ties are an interesting way of installing them. Let me know how they hold up. I would be afraid of ripping them off. Check out DCS lighting they make frame mounted rock lights so you can just put them in your frame holes no drilling required. I did a video on them. Great video though can't wait to see those tires on. What did you go with?

  • @adventuredex

    @adventuredex

    6 жыл бұрын

    +The Bearded Jeeper Thanks for the comment Kyle! Yah zip ties are not my preferred choice for installations HOWEVER because these rock lights are so small and light plus there is not a real good way to “bolt” them without drilling and cutting.... that’s why zip ties seem to be the way to go. Espically since the strong plastic zip ties can be mounted to anything and will last a long time! I will look into the brand you suggested tho! Also I just posted a pic of the wheels on IG!!

  • @apexpredator_jku
    @apexpredator_jku6 жыл бұрын

    Geez, w a pita to wire each one seperately. Most rock lights come with IP68 plug & play harness wired to a single module. No splicing, soldering, heat shrink. Then just 1 set of hot/grounds to switch pod. Now that you got some wheels, maybe you should've waited to do some new fenders before rock lights because you might have to re-do some if and when u get fenders...and you're right, might not serve purpose off road but nothing wrong with a little eye candy!

  • @onemanband1349

    @onemanband1349

    Yes you definitely can. Those little lights don’t pull hardly any amps. You can wire all the lights in sync with each other and then just run 1 power and 1 negative and be done with it. That is definitely how I’ll be doing mine.

    Neil from GTA. That was too cool. You can't POSSIBLY be a real Jeeper! ROTFLMAO. I'd give you 10 likes if I could.

    Definitely! Nice cameo appearance! glad yinz guys connected! again, I think you guyz could show up at the Bantam Heritage Jeep festival next year. It would be a great promo! BTW I am not affiliated with it. I just live near there.

    Thanks for your comment. This install method can be used for any rock lights even the more traditional white lights which obviously serve a much more useful purpose but as I mentioned in the video, this was just for fun!

    I bought the white ones. They're pretty useful at night for backing up and making sure you're not going to run into anything. I would never buy the neon ones tho
