The TST Industries flush mount turn signals for all Yamaha sportbikes 1998 and up fit within the fairing well left behind by OEM signals and clean up the sleek look of your sports machine. The large plastic shoulder nut that attaches the flushmounts to the bike can be trimmed for custom fit applications. The wires of the signals terminate in bullet connectors. We offer optional 3-3 harness converters that accept the bullet connectors on one end and are fitted with an OEM plug on the other end for a plug-and-play connection. Please follow the link above for more info.

    just put these on, the clear not the smoked, they look great.. thanks tstind for the great product, easy install with easy to follow video.. I kinda like the faster relay on the LED blinkers and I think it makes them easier to see in traffic, so I don't think I'll be getting the regulator relay

    Just installed these flush mounts on my R3 along with the flasher relay. It looks awesome. I will say on the harness the color coding is different than in the video. I used Black to red and yellow to brown.

    Just installed these, pretty straightforward. FYI, my black wire from the signal to the red wire on the converter was the same, but there was no yellow wire on the converter I received. It was a different color, but the process is the same and you can just plug it into one of them to see it if works.

    I installed the integrated tail light and already have the relay installed for that, if I used the ARO18s on the front, would they fit properly and would they still be plug and play? I don’t want the flush mounts on the front, wanna be seen a bit more with the AROs if possible. Same install process as the flush’s?

    I only hope these don't quit, because they were relative easy to attach to the R3. The installation did not show using the rubber spacer, and they went on without it. I guess some states require the lights farther from the body, and they work very for that (I didn't use them). Visibility for both blinkers is easy to see only 10 feet from the front of the bike, so they do what they are suppose to do. The result was perfect for my Raven R3 (black in Europe). I bought the smoked lenses, which look better with black. The only complaint was the adapter fitting is slightly larger than the female, which makes attaching them a bit of a dither. I like things that work the first time, and yes I used the electronic speed control. You can see my comments on that video.

    Is the relay necessary? Will it effect longevity or anything if it's not bought with the kit?

  • @TSTindustries

    @TSTindustries

    9 жыл бұрын

    Gamertag It will not affect the longevity of the lights. Without the use of the relay the signals will flash substantially faster than the OEM rate and that may be confusing to drivers around you. We recommend using the relay because it sets your flash rate at such a pace that drivers around you can clearly see that you are signaling to turn or switch lanes.

    Just delivered today. Hooked up in 15 min easy. In your video there are no running lights. My Question is can it have running lights and blinker working on same light.

  • @TSTindustries

    @TSTindustries

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Richard Braun There is a way to connect them in so they retain the running light function. There are implications to that though. If you ever decide to replace your rear signals to LED type, or an integrated taillight the system will not function properly and you will have to rewire them to remove the running light option. We actually covered this issue in depth in our FZ-09 video. You can fast forward to 12:45 in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pGdl1dmNg82ckaw.html to see the content I am referencing.

  • @TSTindustries

    @TSTindustries

    9 жыл бұрын

    Manveer Grewal There is a good chance that you allowed the running light wire to touch ground and your fuse blew. Check the fuse and replace if necessary. The fuses are located on the right side of the subframe, below the tail center panel. Make sure that you insulate all connectors so they do not touch and cause a fuse to blow again.

    I hear that people are putting yellow to black and black to yellow and it has running lights and blinkers, is there any thing that can happen with this wiring? Anything like drain battery faster or anything? Also, why does it work?

  • @TSTindustries

    @TSTindustries

    9 жыл бұрын

    blorchdude4 Yes, some people have done that with success for the front signals. The problem with that is that in that configuration you are pushing stray current through the signaling system. Once the bike is fitted with an integrated taillight the front signal setup will cause issues. Just like on the CBR600RR, the stray current in the signaling system will trip the signaling function of the integrated taillight to on so instead of red you will have amber for running light, and red for signals. If you do not go with an integrated taillight and do LED signals instead, there is a chance that your rear signals will have issues as well. So to be proactive and use the signaling system as it was designed we recommend using our procedure.

  • @TSTindustries

    @TSTindustries

    8 жыл бұрын

    Yes, it is used to prevent the connectors from accidentally touching each other and causing a short. You can get electrical tape at any local hardware store so it should be easy to find. An alternative to electrical tape would be to use heat shrink tubing.

  • @TSTindustries

    @TSTindustries

    8 жыл бұрын

    Correct. They have a single circuit so they only operate as signal lamps. There is a way to wire them in and get the running light function but that is not the correct wiring and may lead to problems down the line. An R3forum member posted a simple electronic method to get the signal and running function. If you would like to go that route you can read his article www.r3-forums.com/forum/713-yamaha-r3-how-diy/90825-make-your-front-led-turn-indicators-into-running-lights-too.html#post315761

    This video was shot before we changed our color codes. Your harness converters came packed in a foldover that on the inside shows the color combinations for proper function. You will plug signal yellow to harness brown, and signal black to harness red. Do not use the blue wire. Install the rest as per this video. This should get you going.

    In case anyone is wondering WHY LED's flash faster than conventional bulbs, it's because LED's have far less resistance to current flow than bulbs do. It basically shows you that LED's use less current, which we all know they do anyway. You can get away without buying an aftermarket relay if you just install a resistor between the positive and negative on the light. That makes it simulate a bulb. A 50W 6 ohm load resistor should do the trick. And no, doing this won't cause anything to short out. It will, however, save you 20 bucks. If you want, you can go fancy like they sell, and get a variable resistor. That would allow you to adjust the flash rate to what you want. That's all their adjustable relay is, is a variable resistor. They are also known as Pot's, or potentiometers. If you ever took apart a piece of electronics and saw an adjustment pot with a screw, that's why its called a pot, short for potentiometer, or variable resistor. These can be purchased for less than a dollar a piece at an electronics store.

    Airplane dude Yeah, it's pretty cheap honestly of some LED signal manufacturers to not simply provide a resistor for their LED's for those who don't want to replace the OEM relay. I received resistors with turn signals from Oxford, so I don't see why TST can't provide the same; as easy as it is to replace the OEM relay it's another product to buy. Money speaks.

    Airplane dude You are incorrect sir. Our LED Flasher relays are solid state timer devices. They do have a potentiometer on the control leg of the timer chip to enable adjustment of the cycle time, but that is a micro potentiometer not handling a lot of current. You can see more info on this topic in our blog here: tstindustries.com/blog/tech-tip-1-relays-vs-resistors/

  • @TSTindustries

    Reece Barnes Installing resistors is cumbersome and then you have elements that heat up with current that you have to protect other components from. During installation you have to figure out clever ways of installing them so they do not affect thin parts made of plastic, and also don't disconnect from road vibration. Furthermore, when you install front and rear LED signals you need to wire a pair or resistors in front and in the rear. Our solid state relay does away with the need for a cumbersome assembly, saves a bunch of time, and results in a professional installation. Most motorcycle owners are not tech savvy and just want things to work simply. We do offer resistors for those people who ask for them, but most of our customers just want a simple solution that will save them time and head scratching, or a trip to the mechanic. I encourage you to watch our Resistors VS Relays blog video to get more clarity on the subject here: tstindustries.com/blog/tech-tip-1-relays-vs-resistors/
