Very nice job . This guy is not just a mechanic , he is a machinist . Great job; but when putting the caliper back on the metal spring wedge goes on top . Between the clipper and the wedge and needs a little molly grease to help the caliper slide back and fourth . Other wise the brakes will hang up . but over all good job thanks .

Glad you guys did the video. I was going to attempt this by myself because I am getting impatient. Well, I am going to wait for my buddy to get back from vacation, so he can help me, like your tio. Gracias!

I need to do this on my 78 F-150.... but I don't have all those expensive specialty tools, nor the money to buy them. Is there no other way? :(

Plastic bushings don't last very long but can work so you can save money to get it done properly or get the tools, cause I also don't have the tools since my Uncle passed away there his son's now.

After you remove all the flaky surface rust off parts use Phosphoric acid on them to turn the rust left on back to metal. After 12-24hrs Then you can use a damp cloth and wipe of after after Then you can paint. Look up Phosphoric acid for treating rust. After all that work you may as well put the parts back looking new. You have a good dad.

I don't think so cuz it's only goes for trucks through 73 to 79 bro 70 and down is different well 72 and down that's where it changes but don't quote me on that.

I believe you can do it but you have to use your trucks kingpins but To make life simple...you should swap everything from under the 79 to the 70 f100.. I know 68-79 a good amount of parts are interchangeable... not sure about 1967 though.

Yes you can just bought me a donor truck 76' f250 8 lug with disc to swap on my 70' f250 drums. I changed over everything, best way to do it. If you dont swap everything over and just doing parts just stop. Going to be a headache trying to match parts

I have 1966 ford f250 8 lugs front drums brakes and just bought a 1976 f100 5 lugs brake disc, want to replace por the front disc and converting to 5 lugs, should I do that? I check and everything looks similar from the king pings

    Cutting oil?

I’ve never seen a diesel mechanic using cutting oil when reaming the bushing.

Another guy reams out the inside of the bushing just enough to accept the kingpin, which sounds like a better idea to me than reaming out the inside of the casement to accept the bushing. The bushing should be pressed real tight into the casement, shouldn't it?
