Damn, those solder skills seemed damn near legendary!

I just installed the same unit in my 2015 Hilux this afternoon, the video was very helpful, cheers! It all was very straight forward and everything works great, the only thing I found is that the purple wire in your supplied wiring loom adaptor kit was VERY short and no where near long enough to connect to the power at the fuse box as per your video, I had to solder an extra piece on to make it long enough.

Great videos guys and thanks for doing them, quick question on tapping into reverse wire for reverse camera, I have a 2012 VDJ79 Lancruiser workmate ute, is the reverse wire in the same place and same colour code as in this video?. Keep up the great work.

Nice video. My Toyota has a NSZTW61(factory installed panasonic player) the player shows reverse camera feed with Dynamic/ moving lines. Will Kenwood DDX917 support that function? Thanks

Hey guys great video just installed this into my 2008 sr5 hilux and had troubble with the antenna very poor reception the standard unit had been upgraded before i owned it to allow for a toyota reverse camera i would like to know if there is something available to convert the factory camera 4pin socket to the rca and positive/negative required? thanks in advance

I just installed this unit to my 2013 Toyota 86, There is a noticeable difference to the factory unit, increased output to the speakers, and a lot of EQ settings to adjust to your liking.

Hi. I'm from the Philippines. I just bought this unit. My GPS receiver is not working in android auto (waze and google ,maps). I've parked in an open area and drove around. I've also follow your placement inside the dash. Do I need a internet data to work? Some says I need a gps module for it to work. Please advise. Thanks.

It would take me an hour to reair the wires I cut by accident stripping like this

i am disappointed this radio never came to america. oh well. at least the 2020 toyota 86 has the 200mm radio and car play.

Rather than tape, I would have used heat shrink tubing.

"Never upgrade maps again"?? Android Auto and Car Play only run Google / Apple maps,. These get updated from time to time, don't they? And are not usable without data connection or unless using downloaded maps, with some restrictions on functions. Correct? DDX919WS is current model [May 2019]

Yes they update automatically with phone and app updates mate so you never have to "purchase" them again.
