How To Install Fender Flares On A 2004-2008 Ford F150

Спорт

What's up guys! I recently ordered a very inexpensive set of Fender Flares for my 2006 Ford F150 XLT 4x4 (With the 5.4 Triton V8) and made a how to video showing the installation process!
While inexpensive parts from Amazon and Ebay are great alternative to marked up, name brand auto parts, they typically come with low quality, generic instructions on how to assemble and install them. I made this video in hopes I can make this process for anyone purchasing these fender flares a lot easier!
If you enjoyed this video or if it was helpful to you, please leave a Like on the video and Subscribe to the channel for more content as I continue to customize my truck and make it a ONE OF A KIND!

Truck looks awesome! I added flares from PSI auto restyling. 2.25 wide. For the extra fat tires. And they are 4.50 tall. Black. $264.00 with tax for all 4 free shipping on eBay. Your video helped me on my 2002 Ford F-150 Super Crew. You are so right bro. Throw away the instructions get your own screws washers for extra peace of mind plus a thief can t rip em off as easy he will get shot it will take him to much time to take them off. Hahahhahaa don t mess with our trucks

Thanks for the video. I used black sheet metal screws to install front and back . I only had the what I call the push pins holding my smaller factory fender covers on. Video helped alot . Thanks again .I also left off the weather strip. My factory didn't have it and the strip didn't look as good when I install strip on one. Overall very happy for price.

Yesterday, July 10, 2020, I was contacted by Amazon to do a review of these fender flares I purchased through that venue. My review was mostly done concerning this excellent video and for those who bought this same product to watch it, a couple of times, rather than use the instructions provided. Andrew, I hope you don't mind.

@EDUARDO RAMIREZ Yes, I bought them and have all four assembled. The video was right, it's easier to do with the fender flares not mounted. I finally picked up some of those self threading screws at Menard's in Rice Lake, WI. Can't remember if the video mentioned which size Andrew said he used so I picked up a box of each, #10 X 1", #12 X 1 inch and #14 X 1 inch along with electric drill driver bits for each size. We're 14 miles from town, so I don't like chasing there for just a box of $3.00 screws and wanted to make sure I had enough to get done. Oh yah! I also picked up a case of Michelob light also. It's in the fridge getting nice and cold. Screwin' makes me thirsty. :) One thing Eduardo, make sure you get the flares for your 2004 Ford. Too much messin' around if they don't fit properly and they need to be returned.

I am 75 and know about nuts/bolts, etc.but to be sure the part facing out was correct...dumb, dumb, did the rubber part of the nut go toward the inside or out????you showed finally. My package left the instructions in China. I put them on a 2008 Dodge single 1500 ram truck. There is fun in old age even if you have to carry a cane a stool with you if you take a fall. That’s weird. I suppose you could always use some sort of adhesive or weather proof glue on the edge of the fender flare and slide the weather stripping over it and in theory it would harden and holding the stripping where it is supposed to stay

Self tapping screws, there's not an exact length needed, I just found shorter ones that would for sure penetrate both the fender flare and the truck with some room to spare. For the washers, I would advise going bigger rather than smaller because a small washer can sometimes go through the fender since it's metal against plastic

I just have 1 question, I have the exact same truck, but I want to know do you truly love the fender flares you installed or do you think you would have preferred something else? I'm ready to buy but not if you don't recommend.

Hey @Alex Estell! I would 100% recommend these flares. I personally know two guys who opted for the much more pricey option (One guy did the bushwhacker ones for i think $450 and another did the Lund brand for around $300 I believe) and honestly you cannot tell a single difference in quality, fit or look between the 3 of us. I get compliments on them all the time. Just install them with self tapping screws like I did in this video. Don't waste your time on the cheap hardware they send with it. Hope that helps!
