    My fridge in my 05 camper worked awesome may have been norvold. Our new 2019 Rockwood has a Domestic and will be 50 degrees when it is in the mid 90's.the dealer got Forest River to add more fans under warranty do there is 4 fans in the cabinet outside. I added this one and it seems colder all over inside compared to before but we have not hot mid 80's or 90's yet. We are going to what happens this next to weeks in the 90's.

    I use a Fridgemate to make our fridge more efficient. It works great and keeps our temperature in the low 30’s.

    Hi Also putting fans on the inside of the frig you don't get frost build up on your fins. The frig cavity in hot summer weather could get up to 135 degrees and it should be running at around 105 degrees. Fans do help. You can also hook up your frig fans that hook to your fins to the inside light to the hot connector. great video Keep them coming

    We were going to replace our fridge with a 12 volt but the price was prohibitive. We instead installed a 10.7 residential 110 volt fridge. We also installed a 1100 amp inverter to power the fridge during trips where shore power is not available, and to power during towing. It works GREAT! Makes all the difference! Price of both combined is not what a 12 volt fridge costs.

    It is funny that you put this video out, because I live in Arizona and our temps right now are at about 105, and we were going camping up in Flagstaff which is around 78 degrees. I couldn't get the fridge down past about 50 degrees, so I have been contemplating pulling the fridge altogether and putting in a chest style mini fridge in its place. (I have a lance truck camper so our fridge is tiny anyway) Once I got to the camp spot my friend told me about adding fans. I have never heard of this then back a couple days later IRL you post this video. What a coincidence. I am not positive it would help anyway, but thanks for the info. I may try it and see what we get, but my fridge has no way of running a wire from the inside to the outside, so I may have to invent a new hole which I am not happy about although if it works it may be worth it. At worst case you gave me something new to consider. Thanks for the video.

    I second that it will help. If you look into the mechanism of cooling in RV and learn about it the airflow makes all the difference with heat exchange.

    Great video!! Definetly doing this soon. Can you please give us information on your thermometer that you use ?? Also, does the new switch you installed only control the two top exhaust fans ??

    This is the thermometer we use now, it’s better then the one in the video. amzn.to/354RB6B. I wired the switch to all fans but you can set it up how you want. I figured if i wanted to turn off the inside ones without the outside i can just hit the switch inside

    How about adding a thermal switch/relay in series with your roof mounted cooling fan switch, this way. The fridge fans still run. But the rooftop fans won't draw power when it's already cool in the frig venting area.

    That's a pretty good idea. I thought about a thermal switch in the fridge but figured with the temperatures here in Florida, it will always run anyway

    Great video, thanks. Did you do any testing of just trying one set of fans at a time? IE, just the exterior/roof on vs just the interior fin fans on?

  • @2KrazyKampers

    @2KrazyKampers

    we started with the fans in the roof, which made an impact. Then we added the fans to the inside and that helped even more. The ones in the fridge also help from the fins developing frost

    2 questions: 1) My fridge is on a slide out and I think the vent that you added the fans to is on the slide out wall above the bottom vent with drain tube. WILL THE FANS STILL WORK IN THIS SITUATION? 2) Because you not have the fans mounted to the fins. DOES THIS MAKE PUTTING FOOD ON THAT TOP SHELF NOT POSSIBLE? Thank you for the great video!

  • @2KrazyKampers

    The fans will still work. The fans I used for the fins are very slim and you can still put stuff on the shelf in front of them

    I disagree with your take on temperatures in the fridge cabinet. Frankly when temps to and over 40F food bacteria starts trendeering the food spoiled.I n the freezer any food thawed over 32F but still under 40F should not be refrozen but rather prepared and eaten asap.
